Hi everyone,Up for auction is my Mercedes Benz 280 SEL LWB 6 cyl 2.8 lt automatic W 116. A stunning vehicle with excellent road manners & beautiful in presentation. All original & a true survivor. Australian delivered with some books & literature present. X 3 keys. Full NSW rego until early December, & will come with valid pinkslip. (Also a club rego candidate).Mechanically it's great! Starts first go, smooth to drive, tight suspension, good brakes. No visible oil leaks but has some old oil stains. No overheating, good oil pressure, & good fuel economy for an vintage car. The gearbox is fantastic, smooth with NO typical flair issues. The power windows work & so do all the lights & wipers/ switches. The only things not working is the air conditioning (no belt) & the central locking (vacuum leak-common). 303,000 kms indicated (tachometer sometimes stops & restarts). Good tyres x 5. Recent work done on front ball joints, & ignition (leads/ plugs/ cap/ coil) system.The bodywork is fantastic, its the original Sahara yellow duco in a solid enamel so easy to maintain. It has beautiful shine & presents beautifully. It's a very bold colour for a bold car! It's easily a car show contender & possibly trophy winner. The only faults are a small 10 cm size rust spot down low on the right front quarter & a parking dent on the boot lid on the right side. It also has a few other small imperfections, but very minor considering its age/kms. The only other thing worth mentioning is chrome starting to peel/lift on the rear lower bumper (about 20 cm long). All these issues are easily rectified. No underbody rust, all solid. No rust at the bottom of doors either.The interior is simply gorgeous. Tan in colour & presented in MB Tex. Great seats in excellent condition, great carpets/ rooflining & wood. A few minor imperfections as expected, but again, well above average. Parcel shelf has some sun damage & 1 crack on the dash only. Has rare factory rear foot rests. Boot area is fantastic. Has spare wheel & tools/ tool kit.A wonderful W 116 280 SEL & a truly beautiful vehicle. The new owner will be very happy! Located in Newcastle or Cessnock NSW depending on what's more convenient for buyer.Please no timewasters.Interstate buyers welcome.
