1930 Ford Model A

1930 Model A Ford Town Sedan 4 door with suicide doors that has had undergone a body off restoration.  The color combination is fantastic. I found this beauty at a specialty classic car sale in Virginia.  It was the first car on the block from the Raleigh Collection of Vehicles.  I don't have information about the history.  I would say the restoration was done 8 years ago then sat in the Raleigh Collection since.  I have a clean Virginia Title.  I have no extra fees.  You can see in the 77 pictures and 3 videos all of the positives so I will disclose items you would want to know that may not be so obvious in the pictures.  I came up with 8 year old restoration because although the tires have like new tread they have age cracks on the sides (Of course tubes inside of the tires).  The paint is beautiful and does show some light checks which are from shrinkage due to age.  Checks are mostly down low on the doors and I tried to film them but it doesn't show up well.  This occurred on one I owned after about 8 years or so.  The paint on the fenders is great.  The body is all metal.  The wire wheels are immaculate. The material on the top is like new.  I used a damp wash cloth and wiped down the bottom.  That's how clean this Model A is.  It was done very well.  The frame rails are shiny black. I see no evidence of rust or poor patchwork.  The chassis parts are painted very well.  Inside the fender have no chips.  It must have been restored and parked in the Collection used enough to keep it fresh.  The motor starts right up and purrs so nice.  It sounds fantastic.  It is very dependable.  The transmission shifts surprisingly well for a Model A. The clutch feels like new as it should.   I took video test drives but you have to excuse my driving. Holding a phone and driving a Model A is tricky.   The interior is all new as you can see. The rear carpet has to be cut where the front seat rails are to fit better.  The seats are comfortable.  No smoking or any other smells inside this beauty.  There are wood accents on the doors and dash that look great!  The glass is in super shape. The front windows are snug rolling up or down because of the new felt in the tracks.  The odometer, speedometer,  amp and fuel gauges are not working. There is no horn, directional lights , wiper arm.  The brakes work very well.  They feel safe and stop the Model A easily.  The 77 pictures and 3 video links below them will show you WAY too much about this beauty.  It is a 6 volt system still.  Never has an issue starting.  Brand new battery.  The oil is clean. The coolant is nice and green.  Like all Model A's it will drip some oil and if the front end is lower then the back end (on a hill) the fuel seeps out of the gravity fed carburetor if the fuel shut off is left open. I love to hop in this 91 year old car and drive around town.  It's very fun to drive and see all of the smiling faces.  (The PA license plate with the red Model A is decorative). This is a Virginia Car. Parts are everywhere for this car and very affordable.  Macs Model A parts is a good source for new gauges, signals, fuel gauge cork, horn, wiper and odds and ends.  Hagerty antique insurance on a vehicle this old cost me only $80 a year with full coverage.  If you have any other questions please call me.
