FULL LISTING at www.HIGHLINEIMPORTS.com1953 BUICK SPECIAL, Built into a One-of-a-kind BIG BLOCK RestoMod that literally be driven every day, or saved for Sunday car shows.  It is loud, fast, brash, and just stupid fun for the money. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR IF YOU ARE SHY...it is the ultimate head turner, so be prepared to make new friends.  This car gets respect and appreciation from a diverse cast of automotive enthusiasts, gear-heads and bikers.This is a One of a Kind Harley-Davidson inspired RestoRod with an Interesting Recent Past.  About 10 years ago the last owner found the car in essentially all  original condition.  He engaged multiple professional restoration shops to rebuild the car into a useable resto-rod with a bad attitude.  It was built to be driven every day if desired.  In the decade following the original transformation, the car had undergone ongoing improvements, all aimed at keeping the car a reliable piece of rolling automotive art.  The 455 cubic inch Buick big block roars to life every time, the suspension quickly pumps its air suspension to driving level, all in preparation for your smokey tire-burning exit from the local burger hop.  For full effect, I suggest adding exhaust flame throwers so you can enjoy the sheer terror on the faces of timid onlookers!  This car is meant to be enjoyed...live a little and keep her moving!The car was originally equipped with a very large Buick Straight 8 Cylinder engine.  The Owner was not happy with the performance, so he installed a very healthy 455 Cubic Inch beast sourced from a 1971 Buick Riviera...a very nice choice!  Power is pumped through a three-speed automatic transmission that is simple to operate.  -The air suspension operates from a compressor hidden in the trunk of the car.  Each corner can be individually adjusted if desired using the handheld controller inside the car.  A gauge set is mounted in the car to report front, rear, and compressor tank pressures.  The tires are restoration white wall radials, that look the part but are also safe and reliable modern rubber.The condition of the bodywork, paint, trim and brightwork is consistent with a 10 year old restoration that looks respectable, but is not perfect.  The door handles have been shaved, contributing to the badass vibe of this car.  The car can be enjoyed just like it is, or taken to another level if you desire. If you expect condition consistent with a $100k restoration, then find and spend that amount on another car.    -The interior door panels and seats were rebuilt and re-upholstered, and the carpet and headliner were replaced and look great.  The dashboard retains its original patina and a modern audio head unit has been mounted in the glovebox.  Functional modern gauges include the essentials; oil pressure, water temp and voltmeter.  The glass appears to be original, however the driver side window is cracked, as is one corner of the right rear quarter window.  Another area needing attention is the spare compartment in the trunk.

Payment MethodsCash (in person), certified check, bank transfers, or 3rd-party financing. All funds must be in US dollars only. Please be sure to have full payment and/or approved financing in place before making your final bid. Call us for more information. DepositThe successful high bidder must sign our Sales Order and submit a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Payment of Balance DueThe buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 5 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed and cleared before delivery or pickup of the vehicle. Additional Fees and TaxesAll transactions are subject to fees, dealers included.  Dealer prep fee is $179 which includes the costs of a final run through our top-flight mechanical shop and detailing. Documentation fee is $328 and applies to all transactions.  PennDOT and notary fees for title, registration, and temp tags vary depending upon your particular circumstances.  All PA sales are subject to PA State inspection fee and Sales Taxes. Out of state buyers are responsible to pay fees for their own State, County and City taxes and fees for the State that the vehicle will ultimately be registered.

Non-Paying BidderIf the signed Sales Order and deposit are not received within 24 hours of the close of auction or if the balance is not paid in full within 5 days following the close of auction, we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell the vehicle to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer.
