1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SLDB-904 Dark BlueBlue InteriorBlue Convertible Top11,000 2 Owner Documented MilesThis is about the nicest, original 450SL available on the market today. I purchased this car from the original family that purchased the car new and it has a bit of a interesting history. The original owner was the owner of a giant telecommunications company, and even though they were based in Kansas, they had a home in Beverly Hills, CA. He purchased the car new in Kansas and had it shipped to his home in CA. The car spent most of its life in a garage in Southern California, being driven locally here and there when they were in town, which was sparingly. In 1986, the car was replaced with a 560SL. This one was parked with only 2,000 miles on it in 1986. The car was periodically started but rarely driven. In 2000, it was shipped back to Kansas and was trailered from one family members garage to another. In 2005, the car had a heavy service at Mercedes to include belts, hoses, brakes, calipers, fuel tank flush, new sending unit, acid dipped radiator, tires, basically a engine and transmission reseal, hoses, its first tune up, etc. The car was then driven a few thousand miles and once again parked in 2013-2014. I purchased the car and went through it top to bottom, in the idea of making it a "new 450SL" that I could actually drive without worrying about. After all it wasn't a 89 560SL with 7500 miles on it, so the depreciation was not there. In 2020, the car once again got new tires, belts, all fluids flushed, a new battery, and for peace of mind I went ahead and replaced the timing chain upper rails, because these are known to fail with age. I also had the soft top replaced, because the original is 40 years old and the windows were getting yellow. I also removed the Becker radio (included) and installed the CD player with bluetooth, I also installed a NOS Nardi steering wheel. The original is included. The car runs and drives like a new car, absolutely everything works as it should. The paint, interior, and top are all excellent. This is a R107 you can get in for not a lot of money and actually drive. This car has never been driven in the rain, has never spent a night outside...its...like new!I have all service records, stamped maintenance book, 3 original keys, books, warranty plate.
