Ford Thames Van

1960 100A Thames van [prefect shape]  Supplied by a main ford dealer [ Cleales Ltd Haverhill suffolk in 1960] to a suffolk gentleman who has sadly passed away . The V5 has his name as previous owner and his nephew as the current owner [same surname] as this vehicle was left in probate . The van has been garaged from new and was only used since 1980 on very rare occasions as he had brought himself a ford escort for his daily vehicle until he retired ? The van has covered 65000 miles and its mechanically excellent a little service history is supplied. We had taken to our local garage for an mot last week and it has failed on brakes and both inner rear sills need replacing. The brakes have been totally replaced with shoe. s cylinders and seals and all adjustments have been carried out so now they are working fine. The garage do not do welding so we could not get a quotation from them they have said it would probably be a day aside for a professional welder?. A failure sheet is provided with what welding needs to be done for test. The exterior bodywork we know had some panels painted back in 1977 due to stone chips and scratches and could do with some now? please see pictures we have recorded what needs to receive attention.  N/S/R arch needs replacing or plated. N/S/F wing is not rusty but where it had been repainted in 1977 some of the paint has flaked showing the primer. ne of the rear lower panels had been replaced at the same time and you can see some of the spot welds. All the inner wings in the engine bay are good and never been welded.  The rest of the van is in very good condition for the year please remember its 53 years old and showing very minor bubbling of paint around some edges. The interior has no damage or rips again very old so looks dated. The rear bench seat is folded and in the back. I am selling this for the nephew and he can be contacted by you if you are very serious of purchasing the van he will consider sensible offers close to the advertised price. PLEASE RESPECT THE VAN NEEDS WORK TO MAKE IT CONCOURSE But its probably the one to do as its great ownership and history?. Delivery is no problem and can be arranged at a competitive price . We did advertise the van previously but people wanted to know what it needs for an MOT so now we know?.
