For sale I have a 1974 BMW 2002. The car runs and drives very very well, smooth shifts, engine loses very little oil, suspension and bushings are all in great shape. I have put in a new gas tank, installed pertronic electronic ignition, reupholstered the seats with new cushions, installed a new carpet and dynamat, and installed new weather seals and windshield. Now the bad, the car's paint has imperfections, such as sun spots and some flaking, and will most likely require some attention unless you like the rat rod look. The sunroof is currently inoperable, all I know is its held in with some sort of sealer and its waterproof, I have not taken the headliner out. The speedo needs to be repaired, it seems a spring has gone bad and its reading somewhere around 20 mph when not moving. Lastly, it seems the car was parked outside for a time with bad weather seals and as such the floor was rusted when I got it. I have had the holes repaired with riveted steel and sealed, but again, it seems the rust was confined to the footwells and cabin floor of the car, the wheel wells are all in good shape as is the body with only surface rust. I have had the car serviced by a longtime 02 mechanic who specializes in them and I have cared for it very well throughout my time with it. As is, the car can be driven and enjoyed to the full extent, in my opinion, and it is also a good candidate for restoration, with mechanical upgrades put on by the previous owner, such as a weber carburetor, and tii distributor.
