MK1 Morris Mini Cooper, Historic Race / Rally prepared, genuine car

MK1 Morris Mini Cooper 998. Modified for mild competition use around year 2000. one lady owner until 2000 and only one since who has modified it for mild completion use. Full 12 months mot and taxed until June 2014 This is a genuine MK1 Cooper. still in its original shell. the engine currently fitted as far as I can tell from paperwork in the history file is a stage 2 Jonspeed 998 with unleaded big valve head 276 cam. powermax pistons. large oil cooler and large radiator. with competition driveshafts and Oselli manifold. It was prepared to Hillclimb/sprint spec The car comes complete with all the original parts that have been removed and more. these include the original brocade drivers seat in good condition. original steering wheel. the complete su twin carb set up. the original engine and gearbox complete which it is believed was refreshed just prior to replacement. Brake Servo which looks almost new. and a full set of I think GKN alloy wheels with tires (Yokohama AO48)I great condition. There are 3 crates of parts The car starts instantly and sounds very well indeed The car also comes with an as new Woodford trailer If you have always fancied a go at hillclimbs. sprinting or Historic rallying this is a great and relatively cheap way to do it. of course if you prefer the car could be converted back into a standard mk1 mini cooper as all the parts are there. The car was restored in the late 90's and still looks very smart today. there are a couple of small areas that if you wanted it as a road car you would probably have attended to but there is nothing too noticeable at all and certainly no rot or panels needed. The car also comes with a huge history file. old tax discs and mot's going back to the 70's. the all important Heritage certificate. detailing that the car was built on the 5th of July 1966 and despatched the very next day to Marshalsea Bros LTD of Taunton in Somerset. it was not registered for the road until 15/02/1967 There are many invoices and photos of the car when it was restored in the 90's and lots of pictures of it in action on events over the past 13 years. all the old scrutineering tickets are here in short a full and continuous history which sadly many of these early mini coopers do not have any more. A rare find and we have set a very low reserve. the trailer and parts are worth good money on their own but we would rather sell it as a complete package ready to race.
