Thanks for your interest. Up for auction is a 1970 Buick GS 455, automatic with 24,536 miles showing on the odometer, True mileage unknown. The car has been in storage for the last 20 years and was recently removed from storage and serviced to make it drivable. A new left front brake caliper was installed, a new master cylinder and vacuum booster were installed, the brakes were bled and the front tires replaced. Engine oil was changed, a new high performance distributor was installed, a remanufactured alternator was installed along with a new voltage regulator. Runs and drives well. We traded a classic 1978 Hough/Dresser front end loader to a heavy equipment enthusiast for this Buick in 2020. Our business was changing and we no longer had use for the loader so we put it up for sale and the guy who owned this Buick for the past 20 years asked us if we would consider a trade which we did. According to the previous owner, the engine and transmission were rebuilt before the car was placed in storage and have only “break-in” miles on them. The engine features a “hemi-killer cam”, high performance Davis Unified Ignition distributor, an early Holley Pro-Jection 4 closed loop 950 CFM fuel injection system with O2 sensor, Performance Products aluminum intake manifold, roller rockers, replica Mickey Thompson Super Scavenger headers (reproduced for Buick GS Club members), 3” exhaust, aluminum pulleys, transmission cooler, aftermarket aluminum radiator and a trunk mounted battery. The transmission was custom built to include an electronically controlled “switch-pitch” feature that adjusts the stall speed of the converter with the flick of a switch. The engine and transmission are not original to the car but the engine has the correct casting number for the year, #1231738.Prior to being placed in storage, the shocks and front suspension bushings were replaced and the front end is in need of alignment. The heater box and A/C condenser were removed by the previous owner and no longer exist. No documentation exists for the work that was done on the car including the engine and transmission, only what the owner could recollect. Oil leaks from the rear main seal and transmission fluid is leaking from the shifter seal. Rear tires are old and need replacement. There is some rust on the underside, leading edge of the hood. Rust is also present on the right front fender, left rear fender, bubbling on the right rear fender and the trunk pan needs replacement. The current paint job looks to have been done by an amature and is chipping in several locations. Some emblems and badges are missing. Floors and rockers are solid. The interior is worn with the headliner sagging and ripped, a couple small tears in the front bench seat, missing parcel shelf covering, worn carpets, ripped driver's side door panel and all the rubber door seals are dried out and cracked. Aftermarket instruments include an under dash mounted cluster consisting of oil pressure, coolant temperature and voltage as well as a non-functioning column mounted Auto Meter tachometer.Additional parts include a re-chromed rear bumper, bucket seats, center console and shifter mechanism, period correct chrome valve covers, intake manifold, GS air cleaner with hood scoops, front spoiler with cold air intake tubes, spare instrument cluster and period correct exhaust manifolds.Although tempting and a good candidate for restoration, my business partner and I have decided to put the Buick up for auction and put the proceeds back into the business rather then invest the time and capital to do it ourselves. The vehicle is located in Providence, RI.Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.Best,Nat

In the interest of full disclosure and complete transparency regarding my knowledge of the car's history, I was contacted by a long time Buick GS enthusiast and he pointed out a discrepancy between the VIN# and the body tag. Here is what he had to say:" I'm a long time Buick GS enthusiast having owned 9 GSs over the past 35 years and am very knowledgeable regarding originality of these Buicks. I mention this because I see that the VIN number of your GS is a mismatch for the Trim Tag above the cowling in the engine bay. The VIN indicates that the car is a GS455 manufactured in Flint Michigan (446370H) while the trim tag indicates it's a GS350 manufactured in Framingham, Mass. (43437 followed by a G). So, somewhere in its life the VIN tag and/or the Trim Tag have been switched."
