1980 MGB L.E.ROADSTER 

 

In order to commemorate the end of an era and to pay a fitting tribute to the MGB a final Limited Edition of 1000 cars were produced.  420 of these were Bronze Roadsters and of these only 208 were produced with wire wheels.  This vehicle is one of those 208 produced.  The car was built 12th - 18th September 1980 and on the 26th November 1980 was dispatched to Kennings Ltd, Edgware Road, London. 

 

None of these cars were registered until 1981 but this car was not registered until 1996 after being part of a collection from new, when the DVLA allocated the registration RFX 133W. 

 

RFX 133W has today covered only 12,000 miles from new and is complete with full history and all paperwork from the date of manufacture in 1980 (meaning there is no longer any need for an MOT certificate or road fund licence).

The car was Tectyl rustproofed from new and has been up-specced with new leather seats, chrome wires, four branch exhaust manifold, stainless steel exhaust and proper steering wheel.  All the original parts are available, see photos.  A very large variety of paperwork, certificates etc is available as shown. 

 

There are two very small spots of suspect paint and very slight rain-spotting on upper half of body (see last photograph.) 

 

The car obviously drives very well in a charming, classic, period manner (helped by the overdrive which means 3rd and overdrive only can usually be used in the suburbs). Regards Ralph 0208 428 5919Collection from my house in Harrow Weald. (HA3 6SN)
