This is my 2.0 zetec 6 speed Cortina. I bought this around 6 years ago and although I have advertised it as a project this is a fully running taxed and insured car but it is ready for some bodywork and painting again. I did intended to strip it and give it a full build but have been sidelined by other projects and now I have decided that I want to build my escort that has sat for 10 + years untouched, also this car has been such fun to drive I never really wanted to take it off the road.Since owning it I have done a few things, when I bought it the type 9 fitted was very noisy, I have fitted the Mazda RX8 six speed box which im sure you know about if your into classic fords, its a great box, close ratios, really nice shift and much stronger than the ford box. I have sorted and tidied the engine bay wiring and wrapped it in period looking black cotton tape. I have fitted a brand new stainless steel rear bumper and a big alloy radiator.Although the car still looks presentable in the pictures it really wants a bit of bodywork and painting again. It has some bubbles, chips etc that I have photographed and the drivers side wing needs repairing at the bottom where it has become detatched. There is a small section I have spotted on the outrigger about 4" long (see picture) that needs a repair. The engine is a silvertop zetec 2.0 it runs Jenvey throttle bodies, autosprint reground cams, vernier pulleys and an emerald k3 ecu, i do have receipts for all of this stuff including live mapping and cam timing, it is a very fast car and sounds awsome under accelleration, The exhaust manifold gasket probably wants replacing, it sounds like its blowing a bit.The front running gear is mk2 escort xmember, rack, hubs, discs etc, the struts are converted to coil overs with spherical bearing top mounts, I would possibly rebuild these or replace with standard struts and rubber top mounts but I have never liked coil overs anyway. The car has a bias box fitted but is currently running 1 cylinder as a single circuit, could fit another cylinder and run bias if you wished. M16 calipers were reconditioned a couple of years ago.Rear end standard English axle, leafs and drums.Alloy tank and pump in boot.7" superlitesInterior has half leather front seats, I have the back seat covers to match however that would mean somehow making something up and fitting the covers as they will not go straight onto the rear cortina seats. Head lining is excellent as are the door cards,(maybee a couple of clips missing), carpet also new. I have converted the speedo to run GPS as the rx8 box has no cable drive and I didnt want a modern looking speedo. The smiths gauges work however these old things were never accurate anyway, I think the temp sender is broken as it can read full hot then full cold the next minute. The petrol gauge is ok but I always unscrew the cap and peer into the tank just to be sure before going out, its easy to see the level. It has a working heater that blows to screen or foootwell. The under dash wiring needs a tidy up and sort out, there has been a fuse box fitted for the fan, washers etc and relays to the ecu and fuel pump, just the standard stuff but I never got round this after I did the engine bay wiring. There is a folder full of receipts for this car, thousands spent at retro ford for the zetec conversion stuff and jenveys, The previous owner bought this car from a dealer and there is a receipt showing a purchase price of £11,000 back in 2012.*Important*Please make sure you know exactly what this car is, what they are like to drive and what it needs, If you have read this far Im sure you do.There should be enough information here to allow you to decide if you want to view the car or place a  bid, I dont do 3 day text conversations, if your serious you do what I do and get yourself over to view asap. If you want to view please do so before the end of auction then place your bid, if you want to buy it without viewing then that is fine also but please factor this into your bid, do not buy it blind then expect to come and carry out an inspection and think about it or negotiate. I do not have a buy it now price in mind, Im happy for the auction to run. I am neither skint or stupid, you know how much it costs to RWD a zetec, you know what jenveys and K3's cost and you know what poor condition non runners sell for so please none of the "Hi M8 whts ur bst price" rubbish, I had enough of that when trying to sell the Focus RS.
