1954 Ford Skyliner (Custom). These are fairly rare as they made a little over 13,000 units and for only one year. Top of the line model for the times. I don't have any of the car's history. Recently acquired, it is registered and titled in CA. The car has not been driven in the last year, likely longer, and in need of a little mechanical attention underneath. I am disclosing this as the new owner will need to consider before purchasing. It has a 239 y-block V8, which are well known to leak oil and this one is no different. The motor and tranny could very well be the original, I just don't know how to verify.

Interior:

It has a 3-spd manual transmission that is mounted on the floor and the Hurst shifter extends up and is offset to the top of the tranny centerline. Tilt steering column and custom steering wheel. Blinkers, brake lights, dash lights, headlights and interior cabin lights work. Factory power windows, and yes they work! OEM Speedometer, OEM clock, and OEM radio all don't work. Speedo is stopped between 74,000 - 75,000 miles. Not sure if wipers work but this car should not be driven in rain due to vented hood, plexi top may leak as well if seals are weathered. Has aftermarket radio in center floor console (with owner manual), it turned on but I didn't mess with it and finding a local station. White vinyl material is in great shape, including seats and headliner and plexi glass top, it does have normal signs from use, but it still has much life remaining and still looks good too. Carpet and skid plates are excellent.

Exterior:

Overall this car has had an older restoration (mild-custom) and believe this is now referred to as a 20 foot car, meaning it looks great at 20 feet away. When standing next to it, you can see the paint and body have some personality. Has been touched up in a few spots, body is a little wavy in spots and minor paint bubble in a few spots . It's not perfect and you don't have to worry about keeping it mint because it's not a show car, overall it still looks great though. Killer custom front grill, chrome is good on front and rear bumpers but not perfect. Hood is louvered, door and trunk handles are shaved and work with a remote. I think the owner's manual or wiring diagram for mechanical latches is in the glove box. Shaved antenna housing manually extends up or down. Great looking chrome 5-spoke BG 15” rims. Tires are good, and rear tires are wider in back than front for a nice stance. It is lowered with blocks in the rear, and not sure on the front (likely cut coils). Appears all stainless steel trim is in tack and in great shape.

Other:

My observations: Dual exhaust sounds great. Has AC and it blew cold but I only felt comfortable running briefly to check. Battery looks new. Spare tire. Brakes seem good and operational but should be checked. The rear differential has a leak and needs to be addressed. Power steering feels good when driving but hydraulic line(s) leaks and needs to be addressed. Transmission drives fine but should be checked. It goes into gear and shifts well through all gears. Motor compartment looks pretty good. Tracks straight when driving! The car starts right up, and drives just fine for a 67 year old car. No smoke, idles great. No overheating issues exhibited and radiator does not appear to leak but may need a new hose and checked. Suspension feels good when driving. Frame and body appear solid, with no visual concerning rust issues, appears to have great bones. Keep in mind she is 67 years old, and it is a 50-55mph car, not 70-80mph car! This car with mechanical attention will be a neat weekend driver, local car shows, or ready for someone to take to next level and swap in a Ford 302 and AOD tranny. I am only selling because of a recent shift in family priorities.
