1973 Porsche RS Clone - This one started life as a rust-free. West Coast 1970 911 T Coupe. Restored in 2001-2002 and RS conversion completed. including new brakes. new fuel and oil lines. drive axles. Bilstein shocks. new seals throughout. ’87 carrera suspension. restored interior. and more.

 

It is not exact to the specifications of an original 2. 7 RS. but it is very close and very well built with some tasteful upgrades. including a 3. 0L high compression motor built by Rothsport with ~10k miles at time of installation. a 915 5spd transmission. GTSClassics RSR Leather/Corduroy seats. Completely gone through by Accumoto in 2011 with updates and corrections to the build. including redoing the interior. the door panels. installing the correct RS bumpers. and many other updates. totaling close to $24k. Less than 300 miles on the car since then (approximately 140k on chassis. see history below). Original stamped maintenance logbook is still with the car.

 

History:

08/31/1970 – Delivered new to Alex Verhoogan of Fairchild Washington from Dave Strong Porsche

 

2001-2002 –

                -restoration in 2001-2002 by European Bodyworks in Bend. Oregon

                -original west coast car with no rust or prior bodywork

-new brakes. new fuel and oil lines. drive axles. Bilstein shocks. rubber seals. ’87 carrera suspension. 3. 0L engine built by Rothsport with 10k with high compression pistons and PMO carbs. 915 transmission rebuilt by Carrera Motors. Steel fender flares and other body and interior work done by owner. *Note - we do not have receipts for this work but this information is based off a few emails in 2006 with previous owners

 

2003 – sold to a buyer in Alabama

 

5/12/2005 – purchased by D. Murray – mileage exempt

 

5/6/2006 – sold from D. Murray to F. Trombly – 132k actual miles.

 

2008 – mirror. horn cuff. horn contact. and original gauge sender purchased. Idle mixture adjusted. GTSclassics ‘RSR’ leather/corduroy seats and new Bridgestone Potenzas installed.

 

12/10/2008 – sold by Altantic Sports Car Company.

 

8/2011 – Work done by Accumoto. totaling $23. 85. 56

                -Remove & Reinstall proper lenses. headlights. mirror

                -R&R proper bumpers and decal set

                -R&R gauges (odometer reset)

                -R&R proper chrome door handles. window frames. quarter frames. window trim

                -R&R carpet set. seats. and door panels

                -remove incorrect gas pedal. replace and install pedal pads

                -install engine cover latches

                -install batteries

                -install new steering wheel – Momo Prototipo

                -remove nakamichi head unit and replace with OEM block off plate

                -install used oil cooler package

                -prep and paint bumpers and rear deck grille

                -prep and paint rocker covers

                -remove passenger door mirror. fill holes. fill driver’s door holes. /p>
