EXTERIOR
Finished in vibrant Single Stage Sunburst Yellow. (Code L 407). this utterly gorgeous Opel GT is magnificent. A glossy smooth coat graces the aerodynamic exterior which is likened to a mini-Corvette having been designed by executives from the United States. Proportionally perfect with the kamm-tail. rear spoiler and retractable headlamps all reminding the owner how advanced this design was 40 plus years ago. A tiny chip to the front black bumper and faint markings to the original glass have not prevented this car winning numerous awards at National GT meetings. A truly rare and completely satisfying example. br/>
INTERIOR
The cockpit of this Opel GT matches the spotless exterior with the adjustable. high-backed. body-fitting seats and all other interior trim being perfect. Angled side gauges and large. clear non-dazzle frontal instruments are ergonomically designed and fully functional with only the electric clock inoperative. Tight clean black headlining and cushioned carpeting throughout offers excellent comfort with headroom and legroom sufficient for those over 6 feet. Original toggle switches have a wonderful period feel and a genuine Opel GT radio is supplied but not fitted. Fabulous in every repect.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Opel GT was equipped with a base 1. 1 but most buyers chose an optional 1. 9 unit. This example has been upgraded to the widely accepted GT 2. 0 litre CIH engine with a 32/36 Weber carburettor so 110 bhp can be expected and unleaded fuel use. 0-62 mph is quoted at 16. 3 seconds and a top speed of 98 mph so expect these figures to be much improved. Modern use is a reality thanks to a five-speed Getrag manual transmission with the correct gearbox linkage retaining the original GT gear stick. A full stainless steel system emits an intoxicating and addictive note without being intrusive at cruising speeds.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Period light weight 7 JX 13 cross spoke alloys show minimal markings and are shod in quality new Hankook Optimo 185/70 R 13 tyres. The dual circuit brake system with brake booster and front discs/rear drums offers adequate reassurance.

HISTORY FILE
Declared manufactured in 1969 and sold along with nearly three quarters of all Opel GT's to the United States. this example was imported into the UK by California Collection in January 1993. Rebuilt to an extremely high standard and first registered in 1997 for the show circuit. Specification of this stunning example is GT/J which incorporates unique styling such as black bumpers. the deletion of chrome trim and exclusive decals. A collection of awards. plaques and trophies from various National Opel GT meetings gives an indication to the high level of finish and detail this model demonstrates. It will provide the new owner with immense pride and rare privileged ownership.
