Vehicle Details

This 5-window 3100 pickup is mostly original, including a well-maintained 235 straight-six engine and rebuilt four-on-the-floor transmission. It runs great. The cab upholstery is original, as is the sound and solid wooden bed. The updates:· Conversion for 6 to 12 volts· Rear-end replacement for a more highway-friendly ratio· Change from closed to open driveline configuration for easier maintenance.· Radio replaced by (low-end) Craig cassette deck and speakers. Not currently working. Other gauges are original.· After-market turn indicator installed.· Recent top-grade paint job (originally gray with black fenders). No rust or wrinkles.This truck's lived in my carport for the twenty years I've owned it and used for modest duty: runs to the dump, carrying firewood, moving friends, a little construction. The speedometer was replaced and still isn't quite right, so the odometer reading of 57,000 doesn't mean anything. I've probably racked up 5,000 miles in twenty years, and don't know details of its history before that. It cruises well in town and on the highway. Turning In tight space takes some muscle--there's no power steering. Recently the gas gauge hasn't been reliable, and the driver's inside door handle is iffy. So as-is. this truck won't be racking up top show prizes anytime soon. The prize I get whenever I'm out and about is a steady stream of thumbs-up and knowing smiles.
