300TD Wagon

Offered from my private collection and up with No Reserve - this wagon will sell to the highest bidder!  Very rare and unique 1983 Mercedes-Benz W123 300TD Estate Wagon.  This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300TD wagon is powered by a 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-five paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. It is finished in highly-desirable anthracite grey (anthrazitgrau) paint, over tan MB-Tex interior. Equipment includes aluminum Bundt wheels, chrome roof rails, yellow-tinted driving lights, automatic climate control with air conditioning, manually operated sunroof, self-leveling rear suspension, cruise control, and folding rear bench seat. The odometer shows 296k miles.

This wagon starts and runs as it should.  All of the gauges are reading correctly aside from the tachometer.  The motor sounds very healthy and virtually no blow-by is noted.  This wagon has recently received a very comprehensive servicing including a complete overhaul of the rear self-leveling suspension (SLS) system, new brake pads, rotors, calipers, coolant flush, oil and filter change, and primary and secondary diesel filter replacement.  I recently drove this wagon on a very enjoyable, several-hundred-mile trip, which it performed flawlessly.

The power driver's window has always worked, but the others do not always function when selected.  The vacuum operated locks must be manually engaged.  The climate control with air conditioning works, but the air is not cold.  The power-operated antenna will need to be replaced.  The motor mounts will likely require replacement and a new set are included with the sale.

As a southern car there is no visible rust, including the door jams, rocker panels, and wheel wells, which are all solid and clean.  There are a couple of quarter-size areas by the drain exits on the bottom of the driver and passenger door ledges where corrosion is forming, but these two minor spots are the only ones that I have found on the vehicle.  Please refer to the pictures of the underside.  The anthracite gray paint was recently refreshed and looks great.  All of the chrome accents shine nicely.  This wagon smells clean on the inside and there are no leaks. This is a clean W123 Mercedes-Benz 300TD that was recently serviced, is mechanically sound, and an absolute blast from the past to drive!

PLEASE READ BELOW

Although in very good condition overall, this is a historic vehicle that will naturally show signs of use and age, both mechanically and cosmetically.  This wagon is not new and the purchaser should fully understand and accept this before placing a bid or otherwise agreeing to purchase it.  A vintage vehicle such as this will not drive or function like a new car, and the buyer should not expect such.  This wagon is being sold AS IS with no warranty of any kind stated or implied.  Although I have tried to capture as much as possible within this listing, there may be mechanical and cosmetic details that were not captured within this description.  No exceptions will be made for any components, whether mechanical or cosmetic, that are not up to the purchaser's standards.  Only bid on this auction if you are serious about owning this vehicle and will follow through on the terms and conditions stated herein.  Test drives and in-person inspections are welcomed and encouraged, but must completed prior to the end of the auction.  Please ask any and all questions that you have before placing a bid or otherwise purchasing this wagon.  This is a No Reserve auction and will sell to the highest bidder; however, I am open to all reasonable offers prior to the close of the auction.  A $300 nonrefundable deposit is due at the close of the auction through eBay and must be received no later than 24 hours after the auction's end. The remaining balance is due within Three (3) days without exception via bank wire/Zelle, bank check, or cash.  If you cannot agree to all of the terms specified above, I ask that you kindly not bid.  I am happy to help organize low-priced professional transport of the wagon to you following the sale through an experienced broker that I have successfully used many times in the past.
