Listing for a buddy who had to have it but really has no use for it.
Exterior of body is solid as it was born in raised in California but there are couple of rust bubbles seen in videos. The chassis and undercarriage is rust free. The body panels appear to have added custom pin-striping and a clear coat over that which could all be wet sanded off, but who would. There has been metal repairs along the roof gutter line.
All doors open and close nice and square with the exception of the passenger side rear cargo door – the exhaust turn ups interfere. The exhaust turn ups could simply be cut at the rocker or re-routed but they sound great and give it the “Matchbox” car look.
Recent repairs in past 5 years include a water pump, upper and lower radiator hoses, carburetor, fuel tank renewal, COOPER tires, reinforced frame at steering box and some other odds and ends. The van started right up for me, idled for over 45 minutes during video and photo shoot. No over-heating. Temperature gauge works. Fuel gauge works. Drove around my buddy's industrial park seems to steer, stop and shift properly. This has been a show piece / novelty item –it has not been on the open road cross country USA driving so consider it maintained, but will need simple love over time as with any 40+ year old vehicle.
Please note windshield is cracked and fogged. Windshield wipers work. Windshield still has original California emissions sticker. Also steering wheel is not original.
Interior has no odors. Front bucket seats swivel. Each seat has a couple of small roach burns on seat bottom. Bucket seat reclines too. All the shag carpet is intact with some splits, fading and a couple of stains. The headliner is original and excellent. Dash is real nice. Wood paneling intact. There is a rear a/c unit but the lines are disconnected. The a/c in the dash and rear are not working but all components seem to be there. The rear a/c is missing its cover. There is a base for a pedestal table and the stand can be purchase separately and add your own table top.
FROM THE INTERNET:
Dodge vans, particularly Tradesmanvans from the 1971–1977 model years, were very popular as the basis for many custom vans during the custom van craze that occurred during the mid- to late1970s and early 1980s. Dodge capitalized on this craze, creating a factory customization package called the "Street Van" package. This was advertised alongside the Lil' Red Express and Warlock trucks as "AdultToys". The Street Van package consisted of a "Street Van" logo on the passenger and driver's side door in lieu of the Tradesman logos, chrome trim on the grille and windshield, simulated wood grain inlays in the steering wheel horn cover and passenger side glare shield, five-slot chrome wheels or white spoked "off-road" type wheels, chrome front and rear bumpers, chrome trim on the gauges, smaller chrome side-view mirrors, patterns and plans to create custom interiors, and membership in the "Dodge Van Clan".This package was available from the 1976 model year until it was discontinued in the early 1980s. This was not an overly popular option from the factory, and Street Vans are somewhat rare. The chrome metal Street Van emblems found on later Street Vans (emblems through mid-1978 were stickers) in good shape are quite valuable to collectors or restorers

The vehicle presented exceptionally well for its age and mileage. Meticulous provenance of all related paperwork documenting its original date of purchase and subsequent maintenance records. The seller was truly a Great person to deal with throughout & well deserving of Five Stars& Plus!!!”
