Classic Mini 1967
Heres a video of her on the Top Straight at brands hatch made a few weeks back.
Up fo sale is my classic mini mk 1 with sensible upgrades that make it a very usable car whatever the new owner demands. Whether it be screaming around the B roads on a Sunday morning or a fun day at the track.
The installed engine was built by "Bill Richards Racing" of Kent. It has spec as follows and runs very sweet on a set of twin HS 4 carbs,
Head chamber 14 cc, Bronze Guides, Isky Springs, Steel Top Cups, Isky Valves 31 x 35.6 mm, Omega 7 cc Dished Pistons 73.5 mm. Engine Size is 1160 cc (73.5 x 68.2 mm stroked EN 40 B Crankshaft on 10/10 regrind). Bushed Con Rods with Teflon buttons all balanced. Steel Main Strap. Cam BRR 1. Piper Duplex Vernier timing gears. Turbo Oil Pump. Lightened Cam followers. VP lead Copper Big ends and Mains. Ultra light Brandon flywheel with Steel back plate and AP Racing Clutch Paddle Plate. Straight Cut 1-1 Transfer Gears. 4 speed Straight Cut gear box. Central Oil Pipe. Large Differential Bearings. Tranex Twin Pin Diff. Competition Baulk Rings. Rita Ignition and Lucas Coil. Twin HS 4 SU's. 3.6:1 Final Drive. Idle Speed 900-1000 RPM. Max RPM 9000 RPM. Power on at 3500 RPM
The gearbox and LSD connected through uprated hardy spicer coupling, new uprated driveshafts and new CV's. Accessories fitted to the engine include a LCB Maniflow Header and complete exhaust, Lucas electronic ignition, twin HS 4 SU carbs with K&N filters
Running Gear and Brakes.
The Braking system is Cooper S 7.5” new brakes front and minfins on the rear. All brake hoses are braided and is the sytem is supported with a Cooper high volume master cylinder.
The suspension system is the original hydrolastic type, i've added two front dampers to give additional stiffness and enhance the driving experience.
The wheels are original and refurbished lightweight magnesium Dunlop D 1 date stamped 1969 shod with New Yokohama Tires.
Body Shell.
This Mini is in its original shell and believed to be only a few left like this. Some of the work was done by Paul Wiginton Classic Body Works.Where not required original panels have been kept and repaired with steel to a very high standard. The sills have been replaced with the correct sills from M-Machine and all rust removed both front and rear. The car has its original doors which have been professionally re-skinned and new rear quarters. The entire body has been resprayed in and out with 2 pack Austin Maroon with and English white roof. Seams have been waxoyled, and floors have been undersealed from outside / inside coated with tinted bed liner to protect the cars body for many years to come.
Interior
The shell has a correctly fitted FIA safety devices bolt in cage complete with diagonal and welded in pads. A must for those fun track days or for an owner that wants to go just a little bit further. The car is fitted with both interiors the original interior including a large steering wheel for events, and a OMP hard-shelled bucket seat with full harness for track days. All seats have had their diaphragms replaced where neccesary and given a deep clean to retain a vintage patina.
The mini is registered as a classic car with the DVLA, it is both MOT and Tax free. The car comes with its original logbook, and Heritage certificate. My last insurance premium for the car with an agreed value of 30 K was GBP 56 per anum.
