1972 jaguar XJ6 series 1 Auto

RELISTED DUE TO AN IDIOT TIME WASTER WHO USED THE EXCUSE HIS SON WAS PLAYING WITH HIS PHONE.

 Regrettably I have to let Lawson go a little prematurely due to another project arriving.

I purchased Lawson two years ago as a project and have spent over 100 hrs on her since.

Australian compliance and turning 50 next year Lawson had undergone a major restoration not long before she was laid up for rest for twenty years. So I had a good car to start will. However over the twenty years she suffered minor vandalism and shop soiling as it went from storage to storage and eventually to a wrecker where I found her! I like her Great combination with white on black.

From my visual inspections work included

·         Engine and gearbox out and rebuild. While I have no evidence of this I have 20 years experience with XK engines and I know a good one from a bad one. Not sure if the bottom end was done was done but runs perfect in every respect.

·         Carby's  rebuilt

·         New reduction starter

·         Brakes rebuilt

·         Resprayed

·         New front screen

·         Interior reupholstered.

·         New timber burl dash

·         New radiator and hoses

·         Plus a whole lot of other stuff

·         Good quality window tint

·         Chrome all good except for middle section of rear bumber

What I have done

·         Repaired all the damaged ignition system including coil resister points condenser and wiring etc

·         Engine flush and fresh oil and filter, now running Penrite HPR30.

·         Replaced all fluids and cleaned cooling system.

·         Replaced cooling expansion tank.

·         Clean out the fuel system and new filters and replaced fuel pumps with new electric ones

·         Clean and balance Carburettors

·         Replaced all fuel lines

·         Replaced steering rack bushes

·         Replaced sway bar bushes

·         Greased all 27 grease points

·         Replace all vacuum hoses

·         Spent many hours tidying up the interior including replacing all carpets will new original needle point in navy blue with original sound proofing underlay.

·         New vicious  coupling on fan

·          New second hand steering column, repair and install new horn and relay

·         Get her to roadworthy including repairs electrics and lights

·         Swapped wheels with Dunlop Dayton wires in good condition (these cost $3k new). If you don't want them I'm more negotiable

·         Paint still has a nice lustre and has been buffed and polished

·         General cleaning up.

What does she still need?

·         Driver's side window mechanism need attention still goes up and done but its a struggle

·         RH fuel tanked stuffed. Have a good second hand one but have not installed it yet as there is rust around he filler cap on that side only and should be fixed at the same time.

·         Have not got the washers going yet. Have a new tank and motor

·         The rust spots as shown repaired 

·         Headlining

·         Chrome on rear bumper middle section is rusty. Ignition lock to be installed
