Introduced in 1993 to the public. the handsome new DB7 was Aston
Martin's first six cylinder model since production of the DBS had
finished in 1971. Styled by Ian Callum. its lines were evocative of
earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be
seen in its design. Arguably one of the most attractive looking
cars ever produced by Aston Martin. the DB7 was well received and
attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of
the curvaceous two door coupé body and powerful six cylinder
engine. At the Geneva Motor Show in 1999. Aston Martin introduced
the 6 litre Cosworth designed and built V12 engine with 24 valve
heads. developing 420bhp limited to 185mph. Other changes included
chassis and braking upgrades. the much more powerful engine
demanding greater quantities of air intake and cooling. as well as
up rated brakes. Ian Callum enlarged the grill. added fog lamps and
re-styled the valances to give the car a more brutal look.
Gearboxes were available with either a TREMEC T-56 six speed manual
or a ZF 5HP30 five speed automatic gearbox. Aston Martin claimed it
had a top speed of either 186mph with the manual gearbox or 165mph
with the automatic gearbox. achieving acceleration from 0-60 mph in
4. 9 seconds. After the launch of the Vantage. sales of the
supercharged straight-6 engine DB7 reduced considerably and so
production was ended by mid-1999. The Valante. costing over
£100. 00 at its launch. remained in production until 2004.

This right hand drive. ZF automatic DB7 V12 Vantage Volante was
supplied new in May 2000 and is finished in a metallic Cobalt Blue
with blue and cream leather interior. The vendor tells us that this
DB7 has been serviced regularly by her local garage; the last one
carried out on 30th April this year. This totally original V12
Vantage is supplied with a V5C registration document and an MOT
certificate valid until August 2014. Undeniably one of the most
attractive designs of any modern sports car and superb value for
money. this car is in immaculate condition and has only had three
owners from new covering a mere 22. 00 miles. Regarded by many as
the purest modern Aston Martin and very desirable. the DB7 should
prove to be a very sound investment and is equally at home in the
city or out on the open road.
