1959 MG MGA

MG MGA. This a good running and driving 1959 MGA. I have a clear/clean Utah title in my name. This is a restoration project, but it can be driven while you complete the restoration. I fully understand the issues involved in buying a car on line when you don't have the opportunity to completely check the car out in person. First the positive aspects of the MGA: The engine runs good, and has recently been rebuilt. The transmission shifts properly in all gears and the clutch works well. From a mechanical standpoint, everything is in good useable condition. The brakes are a little soft, but work. The compression on each of the four cylinders is excellent. The gauges work and, but the MGA also comes with a complete, new wiring harness.On the negative aspects of my MGA: The rockers are rusted and need to be replaced, and there is a small rust problem in the trunk and drivers side lower fender. I have priced the replacement panels and the panels are readily available and inexpensive. The MGA was originally white, and was painted red several decades ago. The passenger's side door is missing the locking mechanism. Both doors align properly, but the driver's side door needs attention. Again, the door lock mechanisms are available. The MGA comes with a complete set of restoration books, and it has an original owner's manual. The interior is complete, but needs attention. The seats are in place and it comes with the original seat brackets and a set of new seat brackets. The convertible top braces come with the MGA, but the canvas top is gone. The wood in the header convertible brace needs to be replaced. The MGA has useable tires, and comes with a complete set of hubcaps. The windshield is in good shape and both of the side curtain windows are in useable condition.The MGA is a restoration project, but it can be used while you complete the restoration, but would not be good to drive when it is raining.
