1983 GMC Sierra 1500

Selling my beautiful 1983 GMC 1/2 ton short wheelbase stepside pickup (the rarest and most desirable Squarebody truck). It was sold new in Oklahoma City (still has the original dealership emblem below the tailgate), and I have the original warranty booklet and owner's manual for it. I do not know how many owners it has had, but it has led a good life and been loved (which is evident from its excellent condition). There is absolutely NO rust anywhere on the truck and it runs, stops, and drives like a nearly new truck. It has a very dependable Small Block Chevy 305 cubic-inch engine which is equipped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold (the original GM intake and Rochester Q-Jet 4-barrel carb come with the truck). The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and pulls strongly...it is a very quick truck. It gets decent gas mileage and has no issues...I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a coast-to-coast trip. The engine is paired with a very dependable GM TH-350 automatic trans and a fuel-friendly 2.73 non-posi rear axle. It has dual exhaust which provides a nice sound during rapid acceleration...the exhaust looks like new. It has power steering that works great and manual front disc brakes that stop the truck just fine (all brakes and the suspension have been inspected and are in good condition...it recently had a front-end alignment and steers great). The interior is in good condition with no dash cracks. There is some fading and wear on the original door panels, but they still look very presentable. The original blue cloth bench seat cover has some stains and was covered by a previous owner...I decided to leave it alone and it is very comfortable. I don't believe this truck has ever been in an accident as the panel fit is perfect and the doors and windows open with no problems. There is a dent in the right rear fender which was there when I bought the truck (I was told that a previous owner backed into a semi at a truck stop...the dent is easily fixable). There are several scratches along the right front fender and door, but they aren't noticeable unless you look closely. I believe the truck was painted at some point in the past, but it is very shiny and looks great...if it was painted it was done so by a professional. The bed wood is in good condition, but needs to be refinished...there is a piece of 3/4" plywood covering the bed wood to protect it. It has brand new BFG Radial TA radial tires and the original alloy wheels were professionally refinished at a cost of $550...they look fantastic and very muscular on the truck (I am providing an extra factory alloy wheel with the sale). The original spare tire and jack are with the truck and both in good condition. When I got the truck it had 98 k original miles, but the speedometer pointer was broken (the odometer still worked). I installed a better-looking speedometer that had an unbroken pointer and I have driven the truck 3 k miles since I bought it (the current odometer shows 83 k miles, so the truck has 101 k original miles...I will be glad to reinstall the original speedometer and both speedometers will come with the truck). I have driven many sporty trucks and this one is the sportiest of them all...it never fails to attract attention and it handles and rides like a sport truck...rock solid.
