This is a 1985 early production M491. Norbert started the Wide Body Registry. This car is #40 of 213 U.S. M491 cars built for 1985. I did request and receive a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, and it does confirm that the car has Turbo Look Body. The car is NOT a Factory Slant Nose. However, the conversion was done very well in my opinion. The fenders are Steel and the Headlights are round. I am not sure what kind of headlight motors it has. But the car has proper fender liners and the lights work flawlessly. I have since put on RuffStyle wheels from that period. They may be Factory Ruff wheels, but I can't confirm that. It also has 993 Turbo Calipers and Rotors (StopsAmazing Well!). The transmission has a short shift kit on it, and it is hard to get the car into first and second gear. I had my technician pull the transmission TWICE to inspect it. He says the inside of the trans looks to be brand new or recently rebuilt. The car HAS been re-painted at some point, and it was done VERY well in my opinion. It almost looks as though it was a “light "restoration. All the gaskets look new. All the grommets and washers' look new, etc. I assume this was done when they converted it toa Slant, but I don't know this for sure. It looks as though they changed the color slightly when they repainted it. The Color Tag on the car and the COA both say the car is Iris Blue Metallic.
