This 1936 LaSalle Series 36-50 Convertible Coupe underwent a complete restoration and is the finest example that we have ever seen. Initially introduced in 1927, LaSalle was the companion brand to Cadillac in an attempt to fill the pricing gap between GM's Cadillac and Buick marques. The LaSalles were considered highly luxurious cars in their day, but were a bit toned down from the top-tier Cadillacs. This particular '36 LaSalle comes to us from a prominent Illinois collector who kept this car in his personal collection until his recent passing, upon which we acquired the car. Under the elongated and vented hood is a 248 Cubic Inch L-Head Inline 8 with a single barrel carburetor that pushed out 105 horsepower back in 1936. The 248 Straight 8 is mated up to a 3 speed manual transmission that is shifted via the floor mounted shifter. Little changed stylistically from the 1935 LaSalles to the 1936 version, however the "Convex-Vee" grille became less sloped in 1936. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this antique automobile is in fantastic, show-quality condition. The two-tone maroon exterior paint on this LaSalle is in fabulous shape, and gives the car a period correct exterior look. The tan canvas convertible top features a rear glass window and is in fantastic condition. This LaSalle sits on 4 wide whitewall tires with LaSalle hubcaps, completing the exterior look of the car. The interior on this LaSalle is stunning! The burgundy leather driver's bench seat appears to be brand new as does the rear rumble seat. The dash is in its stock configuration shows exceptionally well, and is equipped with a 110 MPH Speedometer, clock, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, gas gauge, and amp gauge. The banjo steering wheel is in excellent condition as well. The attention to detail on this 1936 LaSalle Convertible Coupe is second to none. If you want one of the most unique and beautiful classic cars we have ever seen, this is the one to have! Give us a call today!
