This Ford Cortina 2.0 GL was registered on the 2nd of November 1981 & is probably one of the very best surviving Mk5's from around 530,000 manufactured. It was subjected to a no expense spared restoration around six years ago & was fitted with various new body panels such as sills, front wings & front valance, it was then resprayed in it's original colour of Strato Silver. All of the work was carried out to an exceptionally high standard, it's green interior is in equally pristine condition. Around the time of the body restoration a lot of mechanical work was carried out to it's brakes, suspension & engine, it was fitted with a twin choke Weber carburettor, four branch exhaust manifold, a high lift camshaft & a lightened flywheel. 

The value of a car like this is difficult to determine & I am in the unfortunate position of imminently losing my garage storage so I am listing it with NO RESERVE. The Cortina has a current MOT until 26th April 2022, it has had nine previous keepers, the only faults are slight play in the lower steering column joint as mentioned as an advisory item at the last MOT & it's speedometer does not work, as a temporary measure a GPS speedometer has been fitted. It starts first time & can be driven anywhere.

The Cortina is in Dudley, West Midlands & can be viewed during the course of the auction by prior appointment, I can deliver it to any UK mainland destination at additional cost.
