we are B.U MOTORS  a well established family run business since 1981 all my life we have been into large american bigger the better cars and having imported my personal car which is a 1977 lincoln from Texas  in 2017 i was amazed by the original condition the car was and the all importance of the drive just got me addicted to these Lincolns AND THE FLAMBOYANT  looks  so hence this fresh import form TEXAS USA  as of 6-8-20 so we have done the hard work for you  getting it from US to here in all one piece takes time and proper preparation and coordination  so we present and offered here a  very much in the way it left the factory a 1979 lincoln continental collector series  with genuine 4,600 miles from new!

A ONE OWNER CAR! first bought in 1979 the gentlemen then was 84 year old and  unfortunately sadly passed away in 1983 4 years after and sadly leaving his Lincoln  in his garage in dry state  Texas heat  since 1983 to now 2020 that,s 37 years !! it still has newspapers inside the car dated  from 1983!!

this is a time capsule  of over 4 decades old a true collectors dream and a true time warp  i will be brave and state this as being a once in a lifetime opportunity as the car has 4600 miles since new !! and is unheard of to find them in this condition anywhere and being the top model and a collectors series with such original patina has put this car at the top and really should be in a museum, now am not saying this is a brand new car at all  but for its historic original patina of a untouched unmolested vehicle is the main reason.

The Limited Edition Collectors Series Lincoln Continental Was Created To Epitomise And Commemorate The Elegant “Era Of The Traditional Lincoln”.

In 1979, a "Collector's Series" option package was available to commemorate the last year of the large Lincolns, which added virtually every Lincoln feature and raised the price of the Continental sedan to approximately $16,500. Among the select few extra-cost options were power moonroof, 40-channel CB radio, "Sure-Track" brake system, and the special plush Kashmir Velour interior. The price of a fully equipped Continental Collector's Series could exceed $18,000. this i today's money is $70000 + There were only four colors available: dark blue, white and limited-issue medium blue (197 built) and light silver (125 built) with a dark-blue vinyl top.

all the bodywork is original !! and interior and we did very minimal work to get it gleaming again see pictures

we had to  be  very careful in what we are doing  to the car of course naturally you cant just drive a car down the road which has been sitting so long  so we will do some  light re commissioning ie clean the under body strip all the brakes and re assemble every moving part  steering etc and once cleaned and re greased new oil  fresh water and coolant  drain and re fill new petrol  etc we then finally we gave it a under body protection  which protects the car  from our rainy salt watered uk roads we will have, before and after pictures the car is unbelievably solid  NEVER been welded in its life and does not need it either  it will be a solid roadworthy vehicle

the body work is absolutely fantastic so original and straight as an arrow ! they are some minor  flaws  but needed  little to get it shining again we did a full complete exterior buff to get rid of the scratches etc and chrome cleaner to clean them huge big bumpers  and alloys it now makes this car look absolutely awesome

so now we have put fresh oil in even though the old oil  was like new and  the factory motor craft filter which we have saved and then we  serviced everything and i am that confident in the car you could drive to Paris and back without issues and enjoy the smoothness and style of this lovely car .Upon further inspection we noticed the tool box and umbrella unused

remember cars are only original once ! and this one is original right down to the TYRES! all mitchilin even the spare is unused and brand new inside the car has no wear at all the brake pedal the steering wheel  its all still like new and the car even has the original tool box with manual and umbrella   the roof lining is mint and the interior is absolutely beautiful no wear and is in top condition its amazingly clean  and original

anyone who is a realist and appreciates classic cars in they utmost near original state with minimal re commissioning done to drive on safe UK roads then they  wont be disappointed in this beautiful car and its presence i simply advise people  interested to be mindful that this is a over 40+ year car  and original i actually intended on driving this daily but its so clean and recommissioned to a very high standard i simply refuse to do so.  i hope to get a potential buyer who will view and appreciate its condition as it is  and not wanting to expect  gleaming new painted car which was manufactured yesterday certainly this is not the case here and one would ask themselves would this opportunity arise in our lifetime to own such a car !?

i stress  this is a very original car and anyone wanting  to talk about the purchase of  course anyone is welcome to view this vehicle which can only increase its value by every day which goes by these large flamboyant cars were rare then and to find one now in this special condition is unheard of as regard to value i have priced it accordingly and i say to anyone who thinks this is a overpriced car that TRY AND FIND ANOTHER could you?  also i dont mind if i have this car for the next 10 years as its value is increasing every day until the right buyer comes . p/x yes your welcome but email first and appointments only to view this is kept indoors in a dry unit

the buyer needs to be mindful that due to this being original this is what puts the value up and its originality cant be duplicated most cars of this age are heavily restored / painted re upholstered which is the norm for a 40+ year car  really, but to find one like this un restored original is a one off for sure .

These are not to be confused with the lincoln mk3 or 4 they are the 2 door versions which in my eyes dont give it that sleek long American look which you can only get from a 4 door sedan long wheel base version

THE ENGINE is super strong starts on the key no hesitation and runs super smooth its  untouched runs  and looks so original  with engine stamps and stickers still showing and has factory motorcraft air filter and spark plugs and oil filter its so clean for such a old car amazing!

THE INTERIOR is all original soft plush velour no WEAR on brake pedal or steering wheel no cracking on panels , the rear seats are like no one has ever sat in them EVER the embroidery is like new  with original mats like new too still has cellophane under seats from factory wow!

THE  EXTERIOR lazer straight panels but  please be mindful the body work is stunning minor blemishes due to heat and age but all original paint  and factory pin stripes excellent chrome and the glass is stunning almost like new and the car has a nice original shine as per factory.

THE DRIVE is great has tons of torque and is a smooth sailor with finger light steering which gives you no road feeling just the floating type of feeling these big cars have and were designed to do anyone who wishes to have a connection with the road and does not like the wavy body roll of these cars and the 12mpg fuel economy  and the 19ft x6ft wide size well perhaps you will be better suited  with a Mercedes.

UNDER BODY absolutely stunning original floors original brakes and discs in perfect order still retains original ziebart sealer from factory floor pans etc like new

no leaky axle or anything!

TYRES these are original to the car fitted in 1979 and are like new!

to me its not about money i want a buyer who will look after this car and appreciate its age and slight blemishes and really be taken back to what this car is all about quite easily this car could be re painted to look like a showroom finished car but that would in my eyes spoil the whole patina so better left as it is i can only comment on to how i would do things after its sold its no longer my car maybe someone wants to make it look like brand new again and put it in a showroom or museum for people to see well everybody has they own thoughts and ways  i just want someone to love and cherish this amazingly beautiful car for what it is.

This car will be ready to view in a few weeks from now  we need to register it and finish recommissioning the vehicle
