Up for sale is this extremely rare 1982 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser! It would be hard to find a more desirable FJ40 than this one here! 1 of only approximately 300 1982 model FJ40's that were ever brought to the USA! This FJ40 is a true 3 owner Land Cruiser with no weird history. stories. ect. The second owner of this beautiful FJ bought it in 1989 and kept it until 2011 when he sold it to a friend of his who is local to Nashville. The 3rd owner had it for 2 years and had a lot of mechanical work done to the truck. This FJ has never been in any accidents. all originals panels. floors. windows. seats. dash. ect. ect! INCREDIBLY original!!! This FJ only has 102k original miles on it. however. the odometer 1/10th digit still clocks away. but the others do not. This happened about 1 year ago when the 3rd owner had it. BUT if you check the autocheck and carfax. you will see that the low mileage is consistent! The 3rd owner only put about 500-800mi a year on this FJ being that it was 4th Toyota in his garage. This FJ is in excellent original condition. from the headliner to the rear jump seta straps! Comes with original 1982 owners manual as well! All of the glass is even original  accept the windshield which I JUST had replaced with a genuine Toyota FJ40 windshield which was $500 + install! The previous windshield was in fact the original and had a handful of rock stars in it. so it was in need of replacing. This FJ40 is equip with Toyota factory power steering which works perfectly. It does not have AC. but it can be added much easier to this model than previous ones. All interior lights. guages. horn. ect. all work! The guages work perfectly. they all illuminate. even the dome light works! The radio is a factory Toyota radio but it is not hooked up currently. Other than the radio. everything else works great! Fan. heat. fresh air. ect. ect! 

Now to the drive. This FJ40 drives better than any FJ40 that I have driven. I have owned a few of these and this one steers smoother. brakes better. shifts perfectly. ect! This FJ has a $1. 00 set of BFG AT KO tires put on less than 800mi ago! They are deep. and as smooth as can be! Also. just a few weeks ago. all of the following work was performed by a local Toyota shop here.

-Water Pump replaced

-Radiator Replaced

-Front Crank Seal replaced

-Oil Pan gasket replaced

-Steering coupler replaced

-Steering Stabilizer Replaced

-Center arm bracket kit installed

-Top Radiator Hose replaced

-by-pass hose replaced

-5 Tie Rod ends installed

This was over $1150 worth of work done just a few weeks ago! This FJ40 is an EXCELLENT all around driver! Starts up easy. heat works perfectly. all gauges read. tracks and brakes straight. truly an excellent driving FJ40!

This FJ40 has been repainted only 1 time in it's 30+ year life! It was painted about 6 years ago. and still looks very very good all things considered. This FJ40 does have some rust in the most common areas. From what I can tell. the 79+ year 40's underwent a different galvanizing process which unfortunately made them more susceptible to rust. Making them even more rare to be in this kind of condition. I have done my absolute best to take pictures of every square inch of the FJ. I truly love this truck and hate to see her go. but I know she'll go to someone who can truly appreciate her! The pictures show all the rust. and I have not found any soft spots on the body or floors. No structural rust that I can see anywhere. The frame looks good. as does the vast majority of this FJ. If you are looking to restore one. there is likely no better one to restore than an 82' Green FJ40. If you are looking for a nice clean. presentable FJ40 that you want to drive and not worry about every little mark (and don't want to spend $40k!) then this would be the perfect FJ for you as well!
