A lovely example, in fine order throughout, very nicely finished in a very tasteful shade of warm grey with a hint of mauve, changing with the nature of the lighting conditions, and complemented by excellent chrome work. The interior is very appealing, having soft, blue/grey leather in excellent condition, good carpets, edge bound to match the seating, and stylish veneers, all original and lovely. Even the boot carpet, often found worn or damaged on these models is in fine order, which in itself tells a story. Mechanically very good too, performing very nicely, and driven a couple of hundred miles to us, with no problems at all. The car comes with two box files of history, going back to day one, consisting of a great deal of invoices, correspondence, MoT certificates, etc, all of which combined virtually confirm that the mileage covered from new is 116,000. Also comes with an impressive set of tools, large and small, and a handbook. All-in-all, a correct, sound, smart and pretty car, ready for use and enjoyment. Delivered new to an address just a few miles from us here in North Wales, still carrying a Caernarfonshire registration number, and a nice one at that!

Chassis No. SJR43 Reg. No. CCC 356C

Snippets: Accountants & ForensicsVictor Ronald Anderson took delivery of SJR43 at Caer Rhun Hall, Conwy which had been purchased in 1953 at auction by Victor from the estate of Dr. Kenrick, a distinguished barrister who had been Advocate-General of Bengal 1909/16. V. R. Anderson is credited with introducing face to face accountancy tuition at Caer Rhun Hall, his training principles are still used today with firms such as Kaplan & ATF. By the late 1960s Anderson's training company had expanded into Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. Victor only kept SJR43 for 12 months before it was sold (less the private plate of VRA 160) to Phillip W Allen whose company P W Allen & Co of London produced scientific instruments such as Microviper, Motorscope, SKM, Omniseal and Taranis. The fibre optic micro cameras that that Allen produced were used by the Metropolitan Police in the 1975 "Spaghetti House Siege", the live surveillance was monitored by the police and a psychiatrist which enabled them to manage the negotiations and for the hostages to be released unharmed.

Classic CarsOver 30 years in businessCars are physically at our premisesLovely roads to test drive onOur reputation

About usThe Real Car Company was established in 1987 by Ray Arnold & Ian Johnstone. It was a hobby that 'Got out of hand'. Our interest in cars of the type that we now sell goes back to our childhoods, and ownership back to the 1970's. Gradually more cars started passing through our hands, and by 1986 we had decided to make a full time occupation of buying and selling the cars that we love.

We started with a single car (all we could afford) which we sold quickly, and before we knew it we had 4 or 5 on our hands! This was alongside another business that we were involved in at the time. In the Spring of 1988 we gave up the other business, (exhaust systems), rented part of the premises that we still operate from now, and went full time.

We had a good start in the boom years of the late eighties, which set us up well enough for us to ride the storm of recession in the years that followed. As the years went on the number of cars going through our hands increased gradually, we built up a workforce, and now in 2009 we carry a stock of around 40 to 50 vehicles and there are ten of us here. In 1999 we were awarded 'International Classic Car Dealer of the Year' by Classic Cars Magazine. The market for 'our' kind of cars is nicely stable, generally prices are creeping upwards all the time, and we feel that investing in a car - or cars - of the type that we sell is generally a great place to put your money. Don't do it just for investment, but you can get a great deal of pleasure from these vehicles, prices are - in our opinion - unlikely to drop, and you can't drive a share certificate! Some prices in the last three or four years have moved up considerably, and these cases have shown a tremendous return on investment.

Over the last fifteen years or so we have brought home several hundred cars from the USA, and we are always looking for more. If you know of a Rolls-Royce or Bentley anywhere in the world, in absolutely any condition, please let us know. Distance no object, commissions happily paid. We always particularly enjoy the 'barn finds'.
