Has had complete nut and bolt restoration and is, in my view, very near to A1 condition
Originally black in colour, this car I also feel has been painted perfectly in Irish Blue. This is not a cover over, this is a complete transformation.
The car drives beautifully and as it should. Has quite a bit of grunt, it having the stainless steel exhaust and twin carburettors, having recently a 100 mile round trip. I believe they are the same engine, or very similar, to the Austin Marina TC which people used to call Top Cats as police used to use them and were very fast in their day. I think Purdy (Joanna Lumley) out of the Avengers used to drive these cars?
This car has over drive which I will look at throughout this listing, attempting to get it working. It may be the connections on the solenoid or a relay needing to be changed as it had worked previously before it was parked up.
The chrome is in excellent condition, as are all of the panels. It is most definitely a show car and gets admiring glances wherever it goes.
Has very good tyres, nearly new all round and has a mo-hair roof in very good condition.
It is generally in need of somebody who wants to enjoy and use it rather than for it to be used only as an object to be looked at, it requires somebody to drive it and enjoy it, giving it a little TLC where needed, which I feel is needed mainly with the wheels being re-chromed.
Gearbox, clutch, brakes, bearings and all running gear are all excellent.
Chassis is solid.
Seats and trim are in excellent condition also.
I also have an Austin Healey Sprite coming up for sale in very similar condition, 1969, not the round arch model, built for hill climbing, 1380 re-bore that has been a nut and bolt restoration also and is in need of being used as it had been bought for my daughter who does not appreciate classic vehicles
Now for the red tape....
