Finished in Smoke Silver with complimenting Mushroom Leather interior, this absolutely delightful E300 Turbodiesel was first delivered by Derwent Mercedes Wakefield to its first owner on 12/2/1998 and registered on the cherished plate 4 CMG. The car was bought by a successful local land agent as a combined 65thBirthday / retirement present to himself and kept until he sadly passed away in 2012; at which point the car was bequeathed to his niece but as she had no use for the car, it was bought by her father who kept the car until I bought it in march of this year.

Both previous owners have had similar use for the car, mainly using it for travelling to a from a family holiday home in France; in fact the previous owner told me that most of the 59k recorded miles have probably been recorded there! The car has never been used over a British winter, has always been garaged and has been maintained to a rigorous schedule.

The service record reads as follows:

11/02/98 – PDI – Derwent Wakefield

21/01/00 – 4,257 – Derwent Wakefield

18/01/02 – 11,313 – Charles Sidney Doncaster

As you can imagine from the above maintenance record, there probably isn't a better W210, or certainly OM606 turbo engine in existence. This engine is legendary for its reliability and one which has had 16 oil changes in 59k miles will be in as new condition inside. To drive, the car really is like new, it is super smooth through the gearbox, produces very respectable power and will cruise all day.

The interior of this car is another highlight, the first owner was a retired chap, the second had grown up children; and no one has been in the back seats since I've had the car. I'd say they've never been used. The leather on all of the seats in fact is nothing short of perfect, the carpets have been double-matted from new and I've had rubber mats in as well. The carpets are unmarked, the wood trim is un-marked, you'd actually be forgiven for thinking this car has done 6k miles, not nearly 60k it's that nice. The bodywork, as previously mentioned is also perfect, the main notes are two small stone-chips on the bonnet, but no rust anywhere visible or not, even the road springs and suspension arms are still shiny underneath!

I have been using this car regularly since I have had it, as my daily car (Range Rover) has been in the garage for another round of wallet busting repairs. The AC has been ice cold in the recent 30 degree heat we have had, I have used the car on a 400 mile day trip and it returned 42mpg and more locally where it seems to average 35mpg. My only reason for selling is that I am starting to feel guilty that I will be using this car and beginning to put more and more miles on over the coming winter, it will possibly start to deteriorate and in honesty it is far too nice for that.

I would like the car to go to an enthusiast who will continue to garage this car and cosset it; there are a very limited number of truly rust free W210s, even fewer of which will have the superb 6-cylinder Turbodiesel engine. It is, in my opinion, much nicer to drive than an M112 equipped car, it has all the performance and smoothness of an E280 and 20% better efficiency.

I will be very sad to see this delightful car leave but I don't have enough indoor storage for the car long term and it is too delightful to spoil with daily use.

Thanks for reading,
