Maserati Bora for sale
Current customer rating: (76 votes ) based onUtilizing Maserati's familiar 4.7-litre four-cam V-8 engine, the Bora was fitted with a five-speed ZF transaxle. With 310 horsepower on tap, performance was brisk with a 0–100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h. Due to Maserati's partnership with Citroën, the Bora utilized a handful of components from the French manufacturer.
Notably, the Bora utilized hydraulic components from Citroën, namely its hydraulically operated brakes, pop-up headlamps, driver's seat, and adjustable pedal box.
From 1971 to 1978, just 564 Boras were produced. In addition, only 289 of these were fitted with the 4.7-litre engine. Just 42 were produced in RHD format making this a very rare example.
Supplied new in the UK, this particular Bora was built in 1973 with the 4.7-litre engine and is a very rare right-hand drive example. This model is finished in its original colour scheme of red with black leather interior. The car spent 5 years, from 2000, in the ownership of Maserati UK as part of their collection before being bought by a private collector. As well as being well known in Maserati circles this car also featured on the cover and in a 10 page article of Thoroughbred and Classic Cars Magazine in 2000. An original copy of the magazine is included in the history file and includes the quote “The Bora's magic numbers make awesome reading – how about 168mph and 310bhp” This car also featured in an episode of Top Gear driven by James May.
The original interior exudes a lovely patina and has been carefully maintained. There is an extensive history file including many documents showing how well this car has been maintained, this includes ownership detail back to original delivery and V5C document. Reportedly one of only eleven Bora's left in the UK and one of even fewer right hand drive examples, this Bora represents a unique opportunity to acquire a very rare 70's grand tourer.
CCCR are delighted to have been appointed as the Sales Agent for the owner.
