ONCE A COMMON SIGHT IN THE STATES THE FORD ECONOLINE RANGE WAS PITCHED UP AGAINST THE DODGE A 100 AND CHEVROET CORVAIR CAB OVER TRUCKS.

THEY WERE ALL OFFERED IN VAN, MINIBUS AND CAB OVER PICK UP VARIANTS.

IT WAS SIMILAR TO THE CLASSIC "THAMES" VANS THAT ONCE WERE EVERYWHERE IN THE UK.

NOW DAYS THEY ARE RARE AS HENS TEETH, MOST HAVING BEEN RUN INTO THE GROUND LIKE MOST COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.

THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK CAME FROM AN OLD CONTACT OF MINE IN CALIFORNIA, IT HAS THE STRAIGHT SIX MUSTANG MOUNTED UPFRONT UNDER THE "DOG HOUSE" BETWEEN THE TWO FRONT SEAT AND IS A CLASSIC "3 ON THE TREE" COLUMN CHANGE MANUAL.

IT IS EXCEPTIONALLY RUST FREE AND SOLID HAVING LIVED FOR MOST OF IT'S LIFE IN SUNNY CALIFORNIA AND SINCE ARRIVING IN THE UK IT HAS REMAINED DRY STORED.

IT HAS BEEN REPAINTED SINCE IT ARRIVED N THE UK IN A NICE DARK BLUE METALLIC.

I'VE NOW HAD THE OPPORTUNITY OF FITTING THE PERIOD CORRECT ALUMINIUM AND BLACK UK PLATES "TGU 466 E" AND REALLY ENJOYED DRIVING IT AROUND IT GETS SO MANY LOOKS.

IDEAL TO PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS OR STILL USE AS A WORKS TRUCK ( ALTHOUGH IT'S REALLY TOO NICE FOR THAT ! ) OR TO HAUL YOUR MOTORBIKES OR BIKES TO SHOWS.

THESE CAB OVER TRUCKS ARE FAR RARER AND IN MY OPINION COOLER THAN THE USUAL PICK UP TRUCKS YOU SEE AROUND.

DRIVES REALLY WELL MOT EXEMPT BUT EVERYTHING WORKS OK AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL, BUT OF COURSE IT'S OVER 50 YEARS OLD PLEASE REMEMBER.
