I spent 5 long years dutifully upgrading this RX-7 at a relentless and uncompromising pace.

Please take a moment and review the work done in detail to understand the extent at which the level was taken.

This RX-7 has been executed to an extremely detailed and high level. and thus should not be compared unequally. I have spent a total of $120 K in this car. minus the time and monumental effort. I will breakdown a few key items: The engine swap and drivetrain upgrade was $30 K after all of the custom fabrication and install work. The combined paintwork was $12 K+ (PAINT only. not even talking about the parts). The interior has $15 K in it alone. Add that up and we're at $57 K. not including EVERYTHING else. and not including the CAR ITSELF.

If I tried to build this car again today. I couldn't. Not only due to the lack of time. but because many of the rare parts that I have amassed are simply too difficult to obtain again.

HIGHLIGHTS: 26 K ORIGINAL MILES Brilliant Black R 2 Model. Clean Title. Clean and consistent Car Fax history. LS 3 Swap. not a LS 1. not a LS 6. a Gen IV. modern. 6. 2 L V 8. TR 6060 Transmission. not a T 56. a significantly better shifting. triple syncro'd. updated model. Cobra 8. 8" Rear End with Ford Racing LSD. Driveshaft Shop Axles. and Custom Driveshaft Shop Aluminum Driveshaft with Billet CV Joint. This was an expensive swap with zero shortcuts. Repainted with a high quality 2-stage PPG Global Brilliant Black. not the 90 s Mazda single-stage paint.

This RX-7 makes 427 RWHP and 429 FT/LBS and is sorted and reliable. I can let it sit for 2 weeks. hop in. turn the key. and go anywhere. All temperatures are perfect. It is scary fast. and what's even scarier is that the engine is still essentially uncorked with much more to go. I can climb a hill in 6 th gear at 1000 RPM. and still accelerate. and I can light the tires up on demand with the throttle.
