DESCRIPTION
The Shelby name was well foot printed into the Ford brand by 1969. and his cars had proven to be powerful performers on and off the track. The new 1969 Mustang shape allowed Shelby American designers to really get creative to make their cars really stand out! A new fiberglass hood with 3 forward facing NASA scoops & 2 rear facing scoops. special fiberglass front fenders with brake ducts. body side rear brake scoops. and fiberglass deck lid with integrated spoiler gave the Shelby Mustang little resemblance to the factory production examples. It would be the last of the true GT 350 and GT 500's to be built directly by Shelby. with 1970 marking the end of this carbureted pony car!
We couldn't be more delighted to offer this 1969 Shelby Mustang GT 500 Fastback finished in special order Grabber Blue with Deluxe Black high-back bucket seat interior! This gorgeous. number's matching example has been cosmetically restored with high quality detailing inside and out! Options include factory 428 ci Cobra Jet Ram Air V 8 engine. 4-speed close ratio manual transmission. 3. 50 Traction-Lok rear axle. power front disc brakes. power steering. Sport deck rear seat. AM radio (now a Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette player in stock location) all tinted glass. and deluxe seatbelts with warning light! It retains the correct aluminum exhaust collector exiting the rear. body side stripes. Snake emblems inside & out. center console with Stewart Warner gauges. toggle switches the front Lucas fog lamps & interior courtesy lights. dash instrumentation cluster with 8. 00 rpm tachometer. 140 mph speedometer. and interior roll bar with inertia-reel over-the-shoulder harnesses!
Only 448 examples were built with this engine & transmission code according to Marti Auto Works reporting! It makes this Fastback a rare investment. especially when considering its very unique color combination! This car began life ordered from Northwestern Motor Car Co. based in Milwaukee. WI and was a very late production vehicle. It was released from Dearborn June 20 th. 1969. and sold to its first owner on July 31. 1969. All original identification tags and date-coded components remain on the vehicle. Even the original Car Lite Sun-X tinted glass is original on the entire car.
