The Morris Minor is the quintessential British classic car and this is a good early example.

It is one of the less frequently seen early Series ll Minors with the cheese grater grill.

The car was registered new in October 1954 and was given the registration number 899CMK. This valuable number is still on the car and is included in the selling price.

The history file contains the original sales invoice from Frank Allwright Ltd of Chiswick to the first owner. Mr Lee of Bromley in Kent. showing that the car cost £597. 18 shillings and 5 pence including purchase tax of £173.

The file also contains a copy of the original Registration Book and a remarkable hand written mileage log book in which Mr Lee recorded every journey and cost of fuel used from when new in October 1954 until he stopped using the car 30 years later in October 1984. Examples of this record can be seen in the photographs below. As well as this hand written record the file contains dozens of invoices showing the work Mr Lee had done to the car over the years.

We understand from the paperwork that the car was laid up between 1985 and 1992 when it was bought by a gentleman for his wife. who between 1998 and 2000 carried out a substantial restoration. The documentation contains the invoices for this work along with a album full of photographs showing the work as it progressed.

In 2008 it was acquired by an enthusiast who has driven the car to various shows over the past five years and who has now decided to reduce the number of vehicles that he owns.

Although the car is now MOT exempt as it was manufactured prior to 1960. it has recently passed an MOT which now runs until September 2014. The Free Historic Road Tax until the end of November 2013 is on the windscreen.

It has also recently had the benefit of the seats being recovered to bring the interior up to the high standard of the rest of the car.

The buyer will be happy and proud to be seen in this car at any of the classic car rallies that are held throughout the year.
