1968 Shelby GT 500 Fastback - #1877. Just out from six years of being on a lift in dry storage is this beautiful Shelby GT 500. This car is in incredible original condition with only a re-paint in the original Sunlit Gold! This car was built in January of 1968 and has an ownership history. according to the Shelby American Auto Club. that includes Ford Motor Company Los Angeles and Shelby American. The original build sheet is also included. I do not have any ownership information other than that and a dealer that I purchased this car from in Reno. Nevada. See the photos for the Marti Report.
Here are some Comments I received from SAAC: Shipped to Administrative Manager. Ford Los Angeles Division (Pico Rivera. CA) 4/29/68 MSRP $4926. 68 dealer cost $4069. 94 invoice dated 3/18/68 to Ford Motor Company (Dearborn. MI). On 8-27-68 Shelby American Public Relations Company car in Calif had warranty service at Chaffee Motors (Hawthorne. CA) for rebuild trans and tow at a cost of $136. 76 with 01715 miles. On 2-17-69 E. L. Bible (LaHabra. CA) had warranty service at J. W. Burch & Son (La Habra. CA) for tach replacement and speedo gear and reat seat rattle at a cost of $3. 13 with 03195 miles. On 5-5-69 E. L. Bible had warranty service at dealership for speedo gear and missing screw in console and align turnk at a cost of $3. 15 with 07115 miles and on second work order service for moulding and clips and tach at a cost of $53. 62 with 07115 miles. Offered for sale at the ‘96 Newport Beach aution by an unknown party and is believed to have been a no sale. Present owner not known. For sale on internet eBay July of 2005 located in Reno. NV with 65. 88 miles. This car has the 428 engine with automatic transmission. It also has 1967 Magstar Style wheels. I do not know for certain if these wheels were on it since new. The mileage on this car is 66. 30. which is believed to be the total original miles.
