1983 Porsche 928 for sale
Current customer rating: (376 votes ) based onThe car is great and has a lot of kick. I've put about 5K into fixing it up so that it performs regularly and does not run the risk of having expired parts catch fire like most 20 plus year old classic cars. It passed smog test in 12/17/2016. Currently. the car resides in Los Angeles. Has a new Becker cdr-220 cd player with basic speakers and speaker fader knob working.
Comes with 'The club" for steering wheel and a tire lock clamp. Also comes with gas cap key. A/C and heat work. all console buttons work. windows work. sunroof works. back hatch works and has some tools. headlights and dash lights work. seats work. everything works. But it is a used car. nothing in it is perfect and some interior elements might fall apart here and there. Not a big deal though. easy and inexpensive fixes.
The car originally was sold in Essex County. New Jersey around 1984. Eventually made it's way to Chicago where I bought it from Mancuso Motor Sports in 2016 and had it transported to Los Angeles. CA. I've had it for a year and found an older one that I prefer. so I'm selling this one. Very fun to drive though. The servicing info is spotty after 1998 aparently. but all my fixes are documented with receipts.
The Fixes: (05/12/17)-All fuel injection lines replaced!-Power steering lines checked. -New air pump installed and belt. -All belts checked and fluids changed/oil changed/coolant changed. etc. -Timing belt checked (it's fine). -New oil filter. -New air pup filter. -New fuel pump relay. -Replaced bushings. -Dashboard replaced (has minor cracks between vents). -Removed third party security system. -New blinker cover. -Reinforced cracked front spoiler. -The back bumper was bent from previous owner. so I got that warped back with new tension arm. -New dash light dimmer wheel. -Replaced door vents. -New coin holder.
The Cons:-Grinds a bit when shifting from 5th down to 4th gear. Best to get new syncros and best to shift slowly in general. -The body has some scratches. chipped paint near the back hatch. and an overly buffed spot near front driver's side panel. -Pod has top center vertical crack. -In general. the car is used and has a little bit of wear everywhere. but looks and feels great. -Back seat belt frame fell off side. -No certificate of authenticity. but have original bill of sale when it first was sold in New Jersey.
I apologize if I left anything out. I'm trying to list as much as I can about the car. Serious buyers only. Buyers are responsible for picking up or transporting the car. All sales are final.
***IMPORTANT! The car is still being paid for. therefore the bank (Wells Fargo) is the lien holder of the title. So if you purchased the car. once I receive your payment. I would quickly pay off the remaining balance with bank. then they would send me a new title cleared in my name. Once received. I would immediately transfer the title to you the buyer. There is no way around this. This process would likely take a couple weeks. so please keep that in mind.
Again. the car is very fun to drive and worth taking car off. but I do not need two 928's. so I'm selling it.
