1929 Essex Rat Rod Vehicle InformationVIN:1071947Stock:210717Mileage:95,505Color:BkackTrans:Powerglide two-speed automatic Engine:401 CID Buick Nailhead V-8Title:ClearInterior:  Video Description 1929 Essex Rat Rod  • Southwest Rat Rod, built in the state of Utah  • Original, all-steel body  • Frame is chopped and channeled  • 401 CID Buick Nailhead V-8 engine with Edelbrock four-bbl carb, aluminum radiator with electric fan  • Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and 8.8-inch rear end  • Front discs and rear drum brakes This rat rod would make an ideal summer cruiser and it sounds excellent. This is a 1929 Essex Rat Road with an appealing American military motif such as the uniformed front seats. The paint is rich with patina gathered over the past nine decades and the car has many whimsical touches, such as the “Military Girl Friday” on the exterior doors (that is removable), the speed limit sign and uniform seats inside and the transparent doorknob atop the towering shift lever but the fuel gauge and speedometer are inoperable. The original, southwestern all-steel body is straight and solid over a chopped and channeled frame. This rat rod rolls on Sumitomo HTR Sport radials, size 275/45R20 in front and 305/50R20 in back. Each tire is mounted to an American Racing five-spoke alloy wheel. The wheels are in excellent order while the tires are in very good shape. Nestled between the frame rails is a 401 CID Buick Nailhead V-8 engine with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition system, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The exhaust headers merge into a single side-exit exhaust on either side. Backing the motor is a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and a 8.8-inch rear end. The car has front disc and rear drum brakes. This Essex needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated so why not stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check it out for yourself?
