As with the prewar Lagondas Frank Feeley designed this post war car having a similar look to the prewar LG6 and V12 models but now having a more modern all enveloping style where the lights are incorporated into the streamlined alloy coachwork. The cars were still hand made by the best of British craftsmen using the finest materials. The car was now equiped with independant suspension allround. hydraulic brakes with inboard drums at the rear and powersteering. This car has the Borg Warner Automatic gear box and is powered by the last W. O. Bentley designed engine. a twin overhead cam straight six of 2. 6 litre being fed by twin SU carburettors. David Brown was to buy the Lagonda Company so he had this engine to put in the Aston Martin DB2. An expensive car when new meant only 125 of these cars were sold.

This car was purchased new by John Peck of Joseph Peck Ltd a department store in Rotheram and was retained until1960.   A service sheet and car reccord of this period comes with the car. The car recorded 80000 miles during this time. The car moved to Lincoln and passed though five more owners the last buying it in 1965 and the car was last on the road in 1966. recording a mileage of 85622 miles.   The car requires a full restoration but is very original except for the coachwork now being dark blue and the registration number has changed.   Importantly it still retains its original engine as many have sadly been removed from these cars to go in the Astons.   New engine components can be obtained but certain castings are not available and the cost would be close to £20. 00.   The interior is original and the leatherwork remains good.   Hopefully the car will be purchased by someone who will restore it and appreciate its qualities and will prove to be an excellent long term investment.   It must be the cheapest classic Lagonda Drophead on the market.

Asking £25. 00.   I will consider serious offers.   The car can be viewed near Lincoln.   More photos can be sent to serious enquirers.
