History

For seventy odd years my passion has been classic cars and trucks. Over the years I have restored many gems and one of these beautiful gems is this 1957 Dodge Sweptside Pickup. This is a rare. very sought after. hard to find truck. We only know of 81trucks in existence today. all of them are either in various stages of restoration or they are incomplete.

My truck is an original. it is not “a clone. I am the second and fourth owner of this beautiful truck.

I purchased her in 1972 with 61K miles on it and diligently replaced the old equipment and had her repainted. Regretfully. I sold it. But years later. I hunted the truck down and bought her back again in 1990. This truck has been featured in calendars and an article was written and featured in “Cruisin News”. She has won numerous local car show awards. for example. Best of Show and Best Originality are just a few of the awards she has taken home.

All in all. this truck has been a favorite of mine. but it is time to move on and start letting things go. I just want her to find a good home. with a person who will treat her as I have treated her. like a treasure. I have spent many hours enjoying her time in the spotlight where she shined with all of her glory.

·         New front windshield. but all original glass with no cracks or pits

·         Interior is 4 years old with no rips or tears

·         Completely re-done

·         New upholstered seats & padding

·         New carpets

·         New headliner

·         New door panels

·         Dash panel is custom made with all Stewart Warner  gauges

·         Hidden radio

Motor

·         1975 400 Chrysler block with a 440 crank

·         Installed vintage air and power steering cross ram manifold with two 550 Carter AFB

·         Some minor oil seepage

Transmission

·         1962 727 torque flight with shift kit & with parking brake on tail shaft housing

·         Push button selector

·         Some minor tail shaft seepage

Suspension

·         All original with no signs of ware

·         Drum brakes on all 4 wheels

·         Rear end is original-serviced
