For Sale: Classic 1974 Mini Clubman

Until a few months ago this has been my much loved daily drive but with a different car for my commute to work this means it's time for someone else to enjoy. I've put a lot of time. effort and money into the maintenance so it's reliable and great to drive.
For the age the shell is in very good condition and I've always kept it safe and dry in the garage.
When its parked up it in town it always draws admiring looks aplenty. Truth told I'd love to keep it but its not getting much use so you could be the happy owner of a very nice collectable!

Previous owners have done.
Swapped the engine out for a 1300 A+ from a mini metro. so it's got a nice cam and has plenty of power.
It has the pre-verto clutch and inertia type starter.
The V5 shows as a 1300cc as well.
Wooden 3 clock dash is nicely fitted.
Chrome handles. handbrake. trim etc.
MoMo Leather Steering Wheel
Lucas sports coil
Cooper chrome door mirrors
Rear and Front Subframes and Dunlop suspension
Partial restoration and a full respray in 2007

The works I've had done in my ownership include.
(All parts new unless stated)

Rotor Arm. Condensor. HT Leads. Plugs.

Stage One Cyl Head Unleaded with Viton Racing Stem Seals and all new studs and nuts and payen gaskets.

Big bore stainless exhaust (black finish)

Heater matrix and all rubber pipes and fittings.

High Volume Water Pump and kevlar radiator hoses.

Clutch Master Cyl And Slave Cyl

Front Disc Brake 8. 4" upgrade. (inc Driveshafts. CV joints. bearings. powder coated hubs and backing plates. new Discs and Calipers and Braided Hoses and new pads)

Cooper S Large Capacity Brake Master Cyl

Rear brakes overhauled and a new brake bias valve fitted.

4 Deep Dish Mini Lites

4 Yokohama Tyres (only done a few hundred miles so like new)

Engine Mounts
Standard Engine Steady
Ultimate Engine Steady (on the other side)

Oil Pressure Gauge

Vacuum Gauge to inlet manifold

Wiper Arms and Blades

Front and Rear Windscreen Rubbers and Chrome Inserts

Second hand Cooper Half Leather Interior. Black with red trim in good condition.
(drivers seat stitching needs doing but its not torn. just needs a needle and thread)

Second hand rear lights.
(someone had put those clear ones on instead of the iconic jam sandwich so now they look like they should!)

Chrome boot lamp

Yuasa Battery with 3 year guarantee and an extra Earth Cable

6x9 Speakers in rear parcel shelf

4" speakers in front dash but I just can't get them to work as I think Head Unit Wiring or maybe the head unit itself is faulty. (Shame I'm not an auto electrician). but the sound is great on the rear speakers so I've not fitted a new one.

The head unit is a Sony with mp3 playback and it sounds great.

Cigarette Lighter with blade fuse

8 Ball gearknob

Various bushes and sundries like oil filters. grease. etc.

I've had a body-shop do some work on the body to remove rust. welding where needed. repaint where needed. full body under-seal. repaint the sills. etc. While the paintwork isn't going to win at a show it is good enough for a daily drive and the union jack on the roof sets it off nicely.

I take her out every weekend (unless its raining then its an evening thing) so you're fine to drive home once you're insured. Oh and the engine prefers the quality you get from Shell V Power Fuel. (not the cheap supermarket stuff).

Things to put on your to-do list are.
About 50 miles ago the speedo cable broke.
The correct type of replacement cable is included in the sale. you just have to fit it.
(I'm using a GPS speedo on my phone and its far more accurate)

The top dash rail has a screw in it from a previous owners satnav or phone mount and there's a tiny nodding dog stuck on the dash too. (See pictures).

The carpets are a bit worn in places. but I've got a brand new set of black carpets. pre cut underlay and a new handbrake gaiter included in the sale. you just have to fit them.

Back to the good points!

MOT until July 2014
TAX until March 2014
Mileage shows 6300 and the MOT shows over the last 4 years that this is correct! (I've probably done about another 50 miles since the speedo cable broke).

Original reg of PAL 272M (worth a bit on its own so I'm told).

The file contains lots of receipts. previous MOT's. tax discs. etc.
Its probably going to become tax exempt in next year's budget too.

All in all it is a great example of a classic Mini with lots of character and gets a lot of attention.

Please don't turn up and expect me to sell for half price.
I am open to a bit of haggling but I know what its worth and the value of such a classic will only appreciate if you look after it.
