1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

1970 FJ40

I built this Land Cruiser over a 3-year period. taking apart every piece. cleaning everything. replacing anything worn. and taking care to reassemble it correctly.   All rubber is new. all bolts are stainless. all is trail-ready.   The last photo is the original condition in which I bought the truck.   The body and frame came to me solid and with minimal rust.   There was no perforation at all. only surface rust and minor pitting in the rear bed area.   That is all gone now as the frame and body were sandblasted prior to painting.   The interior of the lift gate is shown to demonstrate the care that went into all parts. even those you'll likely never see.

Though this was a complete frame-off restoration.   A number of modifications were made at the time of restoration or before.   The following is a list of features:

-        Rebuilt tie-rods

-        Custom wiring throughout. all tied with lacing tape (like aircraft wiring)

-        Wiring diagram and rebuild notebook included

-        Stainless fasteners used throughout

-        All parts painted while disassembled

-        Bedliner body undercoat

-        Doors and windows completely rebuilt with new crank and latch mechanisms

-        Custom front bumper and winch mount

-        Man-a-fre rear bumper with swing away spare and fuel can mount

Drive the legend. with modern parts where it counts.

I am forced to sell due to health issues. and must part with three years of hard work. building the FJ40 I always wanted.   I put an extreme amount of care into this truck and I am sure it will serve you well.

I will include my custom wiring diagram and complete restoration notebook with the sale. which will explain details of design decisions made during the build.

This FJ40 has been continuously garaged and does not presently have a battery.   Winning bidder will need to arrange for vehicle pickup and transportation.
