Right. here we have my MK1 escort 1300E   2door 1974/5   (got to be one of the last MK1s?)

 

the road tax runs out 30th sept 2013. I will sorn the car and put her into storage for winter if she doesn't sell. If my reserve price is met. or a good offer agreed. I will put 6mths tax on and re mot.

Im just testing the water here to see what response I get. but if she sells. she sells. if not im not worried. So I wont be taking any stupid offers as I know what this is worth and im in no hurry to sell;

1600 711m xflow (supposed to be 1660 but cant prove. goes well tho)

single side draft dellorto 40 on a lynx manifold with proper linkage

lightened flywheel

hotrod spec cam

steel rockerposts  double valve springs etc etc

big valve head (cant prove as ive not seen it . but no reason to disbelieve as everything else is good spec)

battery in boot

single box Ashley exhaust and heat wrapped manifold.   re packable silencer ( home modified. but works well)

electric fan

oil vapour trap

filterking fuel pressure reg/ electric fuel pump in boot

unusual rocker cover with take offs for oil vapour. nicely painted

4 speed "rocket "box with quick shift

single piece prop

Anglia van English axel (narrower than escort)

3. 89 diff

9" rear drums

lowering block on leaf springs (2")

rear anti roll bar!

adjustable spax shox

 

front coilovers

unusual spherical bearing top mounts (lightweight)

front anti rollbar

quick rack steering

 

capri crossdrilled discs . pot (princess)AP calipers

braided hoses to calipers

7. 5x13 superlights (I think)

good tread tyres 175-50-13 continentals

2 blue bucket seats

back seat is out but I still have it. in good condition

no carpet

springalex suede deep dish steering wheel

colour coded 6 dial dash

all door cards present and good condition

has had some welding in the past  not much tho.   but very solid(a few patches in the usual places. strut tops. etc) mainly good tho

recently fitted uprated engine mounts and new. (second hand gearbox mount)

all locks and ign barrel complete and working with 2 keys

all electrics work ( except heated rear screen. not connected)

TO SUMMARISE.

GOOD POINTS.

Its a mk1 2 door!  what else do you need to know!

its a genuine 1300e shell with i. d tags and v5 stating 1300e(these are getting rarer and nearly as collectable as the mexico and Rs version)

All 1300e badges are present for the purists. (The rs and 1600 badges will come off easily)

Shes loud n proud. I get a wave. nod or thumbs up Every time I take her out! people love these. Don't buy if you don't like attention!

Handles and drives like a proper old school RWD car. loud harsh ride. odd rattles . but great fun!

all the good bits and expensive work has been done

just needs a little refining if you realy want perfection( personally. I just drive her. daily. without fault!)

currently taxed and \mot d  ready to drive away (until end of Oct)

 

 

BAD POINTS

 

Shes not a  RS1600. Mexico or 2000!

slight bubble in paint appearing on osr wheelarch

slight crazing in paint on roof(possibly where the vinyl roof used to be and has reacted a little)? not bothered me tho. only shows in the right light

nsf wheel bearing whining. (new bearing supplied. ijust cant be arsed to change it!)

speedo not connected( never have time to look at the speedo when driving anyways!)

paint on rear valance cracked( my fault when removing exhaust I twatted the valance!) needs repaint or white underseal to fix. no biggy!

tax runs out end sept 13. ( just missed out on being exempt!)

mot runs out end oct 13

 

I cant think of anything else good or bad at the mo.

honestly tho. im being real picky and honest. you wouldn't usually get a description like this on a car and don't forget shes 39+ years old and used daily. not a trailer queen/show car.

Although I did pick up a trophy the very first car show I took her to!
