Hello All. /strong>

Are you looking for that unique hot rod or muscle car that stands out because it is a little different?  I have for your consideration is a 1971 Buick Grand Sport with all the right options that matter.   I have owned this car for 7 years. and I feel it is time to move on to the next project.   I am not selling this because I have to or NEED to sell.   A good project needs to start with a good foundation-this is a very solid car!  When the 1970 GS Stage 1 appeared. an automotive magazine stated that it was as fast as a hemi Roadrunner.   Their basis was the test car 68 Roadrunner was a few tenths slower than the 70 GS Stage 1 Buick.   I like both Mopar and Buicks. but this car sure is a lot less expensive. more luxurious. and better built than a 68 Hemi Roadrunner. Buick's campaign was "When better cars are built. Buick will build them" and they used "Light your fire".   The Buick 455 is a lightweight over-square big block! (4. 310" bore x 3. 90" stroke)  It was rated factory at 510 ft. /lbs. of torque.   Competition Cams quoted that with an aluminum intake and heads. it weighs less than a small block Chevy engine.

I have started this project pretty much a part at a time waiting for the right time to assemble.    I had used two parts cars to help with the assembly of this one.   This car has a LOT of power.   This is a true MUSCLE CAR! This is not a "true" numbers matching car. I do know it is a REAL GS by looking at the VIN.    It has ALL of the GS still on it and some extras.   This is NOT a frame-off restored car.   If you are looking for a nice driver car with a nice ride. this may be your car.   If you are looking for a Mercedes or Lexus kind of quality-don't look at muscle cars-even restored ones- as you would not appreciate what they are.   The springs and bushings are in good shape. the car does not bottom out and the suspension does not squeak.   I cloned this into a GSX only because there are so few of them (124 made in 1971).

Here is a video of my car at YouTube:

the bad:  I'm not trying to talk you out of buying this car. but there are some areas that need to be addressed.   I would like you to know the issues up front so you know what you are buying.   This car is 99% rust free. There is one rust hole in the trunk near the right wheel housing and there is some rust behind the right rear wheel that in my opinion did not need attention.   There were a couple of pin holes on the front floors that were treated and fiber glassed.   The right fender lower bolts are broken. the left fender is bowed out a little.   The upper steering column bearing is a little worn. The dash bezel needs to be replaced. the windshield wipers work on low speed-there is an extra wiper motor in the trunk.   The paint has some issues. The power steering works real good. but it leaks-I have an extra pump.   A lifter or two are starting to make a little noise on the driver's side.   They are all new. but there is no adjustments that can be made unless you buy adjustable pushrods.   The speedometer doesn't work.   I replaced the speedometer. speedometer cable and speedometer gear.   I found out the speedo gear is not contacting the drive gear in the transmission.   Maybe it is the speedo gear housing.    For what I am asking for this car. this is still a bargain.

I will give you an option as to if you would like to have the (four) Weld Racing Wheels in the pictures or (four) factory 15" Buick Rally wheels and center caps.

the Positives: The body. doors. trunk lid. hood. floors are all solid.   This is a running/driving car. almost complete new interior. very POWERFUL car. It can break the 14" wide tires easily. Adult owned and not abused.  Rebuilt transmission-it had a 70 Stage 1 turbo 400 trans. but there was an ear broke off so I had it rebuilt and used a different case along with a rebuilt torque converter.   It shifts firmly.   The interior and trunk lights work except for the map light in the mirror-maybe just a bulb. MSD 6AL ignition box with an HEI distributor. New weather-stripping. new reproduction hood tach. new hood springs.   Although this is not a true GSX. it is repainted a factory color and interior option Stratomist Blue and Pearl White interior. Once you ride in this car. you would like it. This is not a cobbled up hot rod piece of work.   Factory quality  name brand parts were used whenever possible.

This car is sold as is without any warranties.   A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours. the balance is due within 7 days.   Balance is due and to clear my bank if cashiers check before picking up/receiving of the car.

This is a running and driving car. and is currently legal for me to drive. registered in my name.   I also carry full coverage insurance which is quite inexpensive.   This car is currently registered and titled in my name with a CLEAR Texas title without any liens or bonds.
