Current customer rating:
You are bidding a Stock Original 1968 Dodge Charger R/T. See if you can find a nicer one.
Numbers Matching Mopar 426 Hemi with 425 horses and Dual Quad carbs.
Take a look at the pics. including the Original Window Sticker. that really says it all.
This is every bit of what you see. Mopars Best.
Stolen from “Collector Car Annual ‘91” article featuring this car:
This is not a gentleman's hot rod. With the Hemi engine. it's a fire-breathing dragon. And. dragon – not sports car – it is. on a 117-inch wheelbase. some 209 inches long. 76 inches wide. and weighing more than 4. 00 pounds. And. for such a heavy car. in a November. 1967 test. Car and Driver found the Hemi-engined Charger's stats (13. 5 second quarter mile and 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds) nothing short of overwhelming. The 426-cid engine. with two four-barrel Carter carburetors. was rated at an efficient 425 hp. almost one horse per cube. with good high-end performance. The block had a specially heat-treated. forged crankshaft. beefed-up connecting rods. forged domed pushrods. and dual-point distributor. Since the engine was already used racing. Chrysler decided to just keep using these components. rather than redo the engine for the rather limited number of street versions it expected to sell as a $600-plus option.
In road tests at the time. the '68 Charger with Hemi coupled to a Torqueflite automatic transmission produced more consistent and faster times off the starting line than the four-speed. with the 2-3 shift kicking in well after 90 mph. Quarter-mile times were accomplished at over 105 mph. But. the four-speed had better top-end delivery. with best quarter-mile times of about 109 mph.
Didn't mention the Posi Rear or the Tach Dash or the Red Streak Tires that are also included.
Power Steering. Power Brakes. lots more.
And what really matters is CONDITION.
Have a look and see. I don't think you'll find a nicer one.
