Model History
The Morris Cowley and its de-luxe brother the Oxford were so successful in the mid-twenties that William Morris was obliged to institute three shift working and acquire the Hotchkiss factory in Coventry to manufacture engines in order to satisfy demand. The basic design of the Bullnose cars dates to the period before the Great War. but there was always a continuous process of development ? notably the introduction of balloon tyres. improved engines. electric lighting and starting and finally. in 1926. optional front wheel brakes.

This 1926 bullnose is immaculate . It is all down to the owner of some 20 years who is very sad to see it go . The owner . put his life on hold for approx 3 years to build this bullnose back to its as new condition . He owns a bespoke kitchen company building some of the nicest kitchens known in the midlands. The Morris took pride of place for approx 3 years in the workshops . Stiped to a bare chassis. then an all new hand crafted frame was built . then new body. again painstakingly built by hand . All the old methods were used . o glue etc . The engine . xles and gearbox have all been rebuilt by specialists . This car is now ready to be lovingly kept and enjoyed by the future owner . It is 3 years now since we have had one so nice and whilst obviously these dont drive like modern cars the character and memories are un beatable . It is a statement used all too much at the minute but never a truer word said than "better than money in the bank "
A testamant to the gentlemans efforts were rewarded on his last outing . Some two years ago it went all the way to the lakes in Cumbria and back without a glitch . Hope i can say the same when i am nearly 90 years old . Mr . we salute you .
Engine & Transmission
The original engine has been completely rebuilt at time of the rstoration . bill and photos are in the history file . Along with bills for axle. nd gearbox rebuilds etc etc . We estimate 150 miles per year has been done over approx 10 year period . The dynamo and other ancillaries have been replaced or restored .
Wheels. Tyres & Brakes
The original wheels and hubs etc etc have been completely restored at time of restoration and are still perfect. Sitting on matching tyres that have only covered approx 1500 miles .
Exterior
The bodywork has had many hours by a mastercraftsman. {the owner}Most of the panels were replaced during resto work and the main body and boot etc has all been crafted by hand . The quality of the work is amazing. Aswell as this the bespoke kitchen builder has by hand in his workshops made a completely new frame . mazing!!! If you had to pay a restorer to do this it would be approx the value of the car . We have photo evidence of the work . Needless to say it will probably now be hassle free another 50 years. The hood and cover are perfect again an invoice for the "double Duck " cover is in the hisory file .
Interior & Equipment
The interior again has been completely restored all in keeping /period . everything appears to be working . There is an added bonus of an electric cooling fan which has a hidden switch . Also a hidden switch for electrics for the vehicle.
