1947 Dodge WDX Power Wagon ranch truck! You don't find them in this condition very often. They are usually totally blown out or already done up to the extreme. This one runs. drives. and stops! It's a great truck to use as is around the homestead or start your own project.  This truck has been the current owner's ranch rig for around ten years now. Geared as low as it is. he generally refrains from taking it out on public roads. It just runs around the hillsides of his dry California desert acreage working to earn it's keep. as originally intended. It can't help that it looks good doing it!  This is a great entry level Power Wagon. Don't miss your chance!
Many more pictures including under carriage. engine. running gear. etc. can be seen in this GALLERYHere's the scoop on this rig.

As far as the current owner knows. it's always been in the high and dry California desert. as the previous owner said it came out of Lancaster. CA and has continued it's life since then in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Mileage is a total unknown. Speedometer/Odometer has never been functional since purchased.
1947 WDX Power Wagon. We THINK it's the heavier duty version with the 5. 83 gearing. extra stout spring packs. etc. Original Data Plate is missing. and was at time of purchase. Clear California title on DMV assigned blue tag number.  It is titled as a 1942. because the previous owner made a bad guess. Current owner never bothered to try for a formal correction. Frame number 8875023. indicating No. 6 off the line in 1947The motor is a flat head 6 cylinder. and may or may  not be original to the truck. It does not appear to be burning any oil. Don't know much about it other than that. Block number P25 5602CCarburetor could probably use a good cleaning. It's a bit boggy at higher revs. Fuel pump was replaced two years ago. Starter has never been touched and functions fine. Generator rebuilt last year. Plugs. wires. cap. etc. replaced 2 years ago. Radiator has not been touched since owned and functions fine. Headlights work. Shocks. Monroe replaced one year ago. Front axle has not been touched since owned and functions fine. Drive shafts have not been touched since owned. Wheels have not been touched since owned. Tires are either original or early manufacture NDC's. They are hard. worn. and weather checked but functional. Previous owner put tinted power windows in. Mechanisms are a bit sticky at times but they do work. Original manual assemblies will be included if they can be found. Windows front and back are tinted. Windshield regulator is out. Non-functional core is included. Gauges. including speedo. are non-functional ( gauge internals are missing ). Dash lights do work. Heater is complete. Not hooked up. Have never touched it. Glovebox- No liner/box installed.  Rearview mirror is good. Seat is great. Freshly upholstered in brown vinyl. Trans cover - replacement leather. 4x4 - Transfer case is functional and internally good as far as owner knows. Never any issues with it but have not opened it up since purchase. Locking hubs are old twin-lever Dualmatics and are free. Have never had a need. and therefore never attempted to use the winch. Muffler/exhaust system seems good. Running board steps are aluminum diamond plate. Mud flaps are aluminum diamond plate and rubber. Bed wood is in decent shape and was recently treated Thompson's Water SealRear end has never been touched. General mechanical: It's all old. It all weeps/leaks a bit but it's functional. Brakes: Never had any issues stopping. so never had any reason to open them up. Rust - Light surface in places. Sheet metal is solid. Appears to be remarkably good for being 70 years old.  There are a couple repairs of the farmer variety that were done many years ago. One cab corner. and a lower cowl. as well what looks to have been a roof mounted spotlight elimination. No rust in the truck now though.  This is very solid truck!Paint is a very old repaint. Lots of 'patina'.  No idea when it was done. We think the original color was orange. The truck is currently on DMV Non-Operational status but does have a clear California title in the owner's name.

CLARIFICATION:  Original description is missing one digit for the frame serial number. The correct number should have read 88750231.  This indicates no. 6 off the line out of the Los Angeles plant for the 1947 production year.
