Vehicle Overview
1971 911 T Targa in Signal Orange
This is a 1971 911 T. Targa in the iconic color Signal Orange with the stainless Targa band. The pre-impact bumper 911's are getting harder and harder to find as collectors are buying them up. This particular 911 is not a show car but a well maintained driver that has been kept up. We have a binder with a fairly complete history on the car. This car orignally came out of the Northeast and looks to have 4 owners.
It has had repair work done to the body. as an example the fenders have been replaced and a the pan behind the passengers seat looks to have been patched. It has been repainted and shows well but again not a restoration quality job. The transmission shifts well but could use new bushings in the linkage. Car overall drives nicley.
We tried to capture what we think are important items to note with the pictures. as an example the uneven door gaps etc. The targa top looks to be original and in good shape. The interior has cracks in the dash. the map pockets on the doors are not closing. the chairs have been recovered in very nice tan leather. the rear shelf is warped in the center.
We did an engine leak down: #1=7% #2=7%. #3=18%. #4=8%. #5=8%. #6=6%. The cam chain tensioners have been updated to hydraulic. The engine is weeping oil in several places as is the transmission. Oil pressure is good when cold but begins to drop when operating temp is reached.
These early 911's can bring upwards of $70 K in excellent condition. This is a great driver with some mechanical needs we have priced this car accordingly. The bones of this car are good so it could be an ideal candidate for a complete restoration too. Please contact us with questions. Third party PPI's are welcome. We can arrange shipping to anywhere in the world.
