This auction is for a 1960 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite.
Benefiting from a 1098 cc engine. original smooth case transmission and disc brake conversion. this is a fun example of increasingly sought after classic.
As an added bonus. recent new legislation has made this car MOT exempt (Build date is listed as 1959)
As per the photos the bodywork is good. the bonnet has been replaced with a GRP unit. On the plus side. an appreciable weight saving is always a welcome addition. Some blemishes to the paint here and there. but overall a pretty and presentable example which drives well.
Its hard to see in the pics. but on close inspection there is a shallow indentation on the rear panel. as though someone has sat on it at some stage. There is also a nick to one of the seats.
The rain hood is in good condition and the car comes complete with its tonneau cover. The transferable registration 991 AOJ is to be sold with the car.
In summary. a very good entry level Frogeye. Ideal and very fun daily driver or perfect candidate for further tidying over the winter months.
