Hi we have decided to sell our bus in order to downgrade and free up some cash. I will try to list everything i can but please if i have forgot anything i will answer as soon as i can. Ill start with the main info
4 months tax
8 months mot-no advisorys
Value- well over 30k has been spent i would think between 12-15k
This is the bus which was converted by camper4hire back in 2011 to compete in the 2012 mod ball rally. i believe the owner of the company was/is a regular user on the forum and will back up the reliability and awesomeness of this bus. The bus is originally a 1977 devon camper and was bought with the soul purpose of being converted. The bus its self is a very solid uk standard rhd. from my experience its quite rare to find such a shell which was intended for uk sale. He has the patina effect to him so please dont expect a show winner as that isnt the result we wanted however that dosent mean to say its knackered and rotted. it just looks awesome. no rust. no holes etc just solidness! panels are quite straight to be honest and has very little bog. and i mean little. very few dints apart from the passanger front door which hasnt been changed as it looks cool and still in original patina paint job. The rest of the bus has been sprayed in diamond white and tan brown and rubbed down in the odd place to give the antique look. All rubbers in great condition. vents on the pop top are painted like mushrooms simply because they are shaped like mushrooms . Large german eagles on either side made up and installed by the lovely folk down at lilleys custom design and really break it up. Rusty roof rack- a must. A subaru bonnet vent has been modified and fitted to the side of the bus to allow better cooling and a direct cool air feed. Now for the fun stuff. the engine used was out of a 99 leggy 2. 5 twin turbo. it was an import and had covered an astounding 41km. rjes engine mount. t25 box xedey organic clutch capable of well over 300bhp. rjes bell housing adapter. rebuilt gearbox (handles the power quite a bit better) scat gear stick and selector (backwards gear box but rather fun) original subaru hks superdragger customized exhaust to give that real subaru roar. ally Fuel tank located a reinforced case inside the lower kitchen unit as are most subaru converted bus tanks. The loom is mostly vw. it was cut down to provide only the essentials. blitz blow off valve sounds ace ! Every thing in the engine compartment works as it should and it has been done professionally by a reputable company (camper4hire). He picks up very well and managed a 1/4 mile in 16. 4 with a slipping clutch (now has xedey one). suspension wise he has an adjustable beam with coilovers and adjustable soft/hardness of dampners along with new bushes and anti roll bars front and back. dropped slightly on the back and more on the front. You will be surprised just how comfortable it is to drive. million miles from my standard bay. Empi 5 spokes on front and originals on rear (could do with a really nice set of shoesies to finish him off). Inside we have white washed wood laminate flooring which cost 80 quid for the pack. 3/4 rock and roll bed with custom black and yellow trim along with custom cabinates in dark wood and gloss white. very modern look and done properly. not by a kid with some mdf and no more nails. push button start. 5 comfy seats with seat belts. fitted with a fridge. leisure battery. mood lighting in cupboards. upgraded fly sound system with amp the sound quality is perfect. at the shows this year we just put on cd player and had our own party. loud and clear enough. Pop top is great condition with no rips or tares. relatively new hammocks fitted and all roof beds etc work as they should. Front is carpeted out. classic bucket style seats in black vinyl. new dash fitted with boost gauge. rev gauge. temp gauge scat gear lever. kenwood cd player with i-pod. usb etc. steering wheel recently replaced with new. This is pretty much every thing i can think of. As you can see a lot of time and money has gone into this bus and is a minor fraction of the cost. it was built over 6 months by a professional company and i have been using it as a daily driver and covered well over a few thousand miles trouble free driving. the builders of him also drove a reliable 4000 mile trip in him from london to ibiza in the modball rally so is more than reliable.
A lot of bus for little money so grab a bargain. only fault on him is starter solenoid sometimes sticks- just clicks but always starts just a few pushes of the button when it sticks. dosent really bother us. if there is any interest or any q's let me know i thanks for reading the essay. Will consider a deal with a t5 early bay or splitty. low starting price and no reserve. it has been valued around 14k as the engine conversion would cost you 8 grand alone. also being featured in next months camper and bus mag. pleas be aware if you win you buy so viewing is encouraged as patina isnt to every ones taste. reliable one of a kind wicked fast bus
