SURVIVOR!

This is a rare car. an original family owned (mother to son) 72 Olds. Cutlass convertible with 48K documented miles. original paint. top. and upholstery. This car has only had maintenance items replaced from day one. no rust and no surprises.

The car was originally sold right here in Fresno at Fresno Motor Sales. it was sold to a local Pharmacist who drove the car on nice days and kept it for other special occasions. About 17 years ago she passed the torch on to her son and he has driven it only a few hundred miles a year since. The car has all kind of receipts from different services over the years to document the miles but the mere fact it still wears the original paint and upholstery is a testament in itself. The original window sticker is available to go with the car. You can see several if the original inspection marks on the underside and under the hood. Cars like this come up rarely today and you can't beat an original car.

Mechanically it has had anything it needed. the air conditioning works as does everything but the clock. The engine shows all the original baked off overspray from the original assemble and it still wears the original air cleaner decal. You can see in the pictures of the underside that it still has the original primer under it and some surface rust blended in. you can't duplicate that if you tried. The air conditioning is working. It runs. drives and stops like a couple year old car that the miles show.

The exterior of the car is good. it has chips. dings and scratches as it was a car driven and parked (unfortunately) at the Pharmacy she worked at. The paint is getting thin in spots but still holds a shine. I think that most of the dings could be removed by a dent guy.   The chrome is very presentable as is the trim and lenses. The glass is all is very good to nice shape with only a few light scratches an the door glass. The trunk lid does have a plug in the middle of the lid as she had a cell phone in the early days to be able to be reached for work if needed. it was one like you saw on the old TV shows that looked like a house phone and you had to call the relay operator to call for you. The wires are still in the trunk for it. The top was replaced with original material in 99 and it looks like it could use a cleaning. the back window is glass like it was from new.

The interior is showing it's age on the seat material. the seams are starting to split but it's the original material. The dash is nearly perfect. no signs of cracks and all the gauges and bezels are clear. The original radio was tossed years ago in favor of an AM/FM cassette but it's the knob style so the dash wasn't cut. She mostly drove the car alone and left the top down so there was a full cover for the interior installed like you used to see on the import sports cars. it had a way to unsnap the drivers side only so you could keep the rest closed up. The current owner remembers playing under it when he was young. It also comes with the parade boot.

The car has NO rust issues. 48K original miles and it's an original dry central CA car (11" average annual rainfall). The car was recently serviced. it is mechanically sound and it ready to enjoy.

I know there's more to tell. I let you know what I saw and learned so ask questions if there something I didn't cover. I tried to show the important things in the pictures and have additional pictures so send me your email address if you want to see something in more detail. The car is close by my shop so I can get any other pics you need if I don't already have them.

There is no Buy-It-Now. if you want to bypass the auction process please make an offer I can submit to the owner for approval. I your offer is acceptable a Buy-It-Now will be added. many of the auctions I do are completed that way. The reserve is set at what our research has determined to be current market value. please don't ask what the reserve is as it's not fair to the other bidders in the auction.

There is no interest in any trades. the owner is not really a car guy but kept it all these years because of the sentimental value. I welcome inspections. the car is in Clovis. CA. close to my shop and can be viewed by appointment. The winning bidder will receive clear title California title for the car. I can assist with arranging shipping to your location or make recommendations for shipping. of course it can be picked up in person after we have received funds. This car is located in Clovis. CA.
